COVID-19: Melbourne/Greater Victoria Re-Opens

Good on her. She’s feeling the sentiment from everyone in Vic doing the right thing. These people are dicks.

She is not wrong though!

The media’s fascination with dickheads when there are more serious systemic issues at play - aged care, public housing, precarious labour - is telling.

She’s in good company. Lisa Wilkinson said dickheads on The Project last week too.
I’m shocked you were not shocked by that too. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That’s what I found when we had the daily updates here, when I was working from home I had the TV on to get all the updates but every day for months we watched the daily Tasmanian one on Facebook along with many others and that meant we could stay really well informed. It was a bit sad when they stopped doing them! We could always tell though what sort of a day it was going to be though just by seeing Mr Gutwein walking out. Dan Andrews is definitely looking tired though and I know the reporters have a job but it would be nice if they could help a bit too with the questions.

I’m not normally a fan of this type of thing from a professional type but in this circumstance I think it’s entirely appropriate and also adds more weight I feel to the anger involved with the situation.

Good.

I think also that Twitter is a different medium delivering messages in a less formal context, and professional reporters will drop their guard somewhat. I don’t think that’s so bad.

While you’d never see a reporter use that language in a TV or radio report, I don’t see the issue in a social media environment.

But still: why did he have to drive all the way to South Yarra for a cup of coffee when there are convenience stores near his home?

Have you had coffee in South Yarra?

This is another case where people are focusing on the wrong things. Sure he did wrong and got a fine for it but he wouldn’t have exposed himself to many more people than if he went to a local coffee shop. I’m more concerned about the 29 or so positives that weren’t home when they were door knocked yesterday. That’s a problem.

It’s not about the coffee.

Even if we weren’t currently in a pandemic, I’d say that you should be supporting the outlets one can buy coffee from in your local area before travelling elsewhere.

and some were at work! what an outrage, we know too well the damage that can come from one person.

I’m so disappointed, a month ago we were judging the idiots in Florida. seems Australians are not much better.

The stupidity of people started way back in February/March with panic buying of toilet paper :roll_of_toilet_paper:

Nothing has really changed since then
