I’m sure she could’ve gone back, but she has seen an opportunity to stay. I think she’s defining (in her tweet) that she didn’t travel to Melbourne during the lockdown.
All flights possibly booked out late Friday? Certainly is only a handful.
Not what I was asking.
If she returns to Sydney tomorrow, she will have to get tested for COVID and go into self-quarantine at home until midnight Thursday, thus missing a couple of episodes of 7.30.
Needs to isolate at home if she goes back.
i will beat the real reason why leigh didnt go back to sydney was she didnt want to do the covid test and go into self quartinine and is waiting for nsw to declare vic safe . its as simple as that
Too much news around the traps this week for her to pull out of 730 for a week in isolation.
If Dan extends its going to be a fiery Presser on Wednesday and she will want to be part of that
Describing potential press conference as fiery would be an understatement
If there is reason to extend it then it shouldn’t be fiery… but at this stage I’m pretty confident this lockdown is going to end Wednesday.
even on ABC Melbourne with RAF the Cho said he’s still hopeful for the lockdown to end Wednesday . by the sound of the interview tomorrow could start determining Wednesdays outcome
This is not the first time people are moved from hotels. In fact when a case tests positive they are moved to a different hotel so it shouldn’t be a concern at all to a normal process and the media are making this a bigger deal than it has to be. I guess that’s just how it is when we are in lockdown.
She does seem to share an attitude with many on MediaSpy, that it is impossible to simultaneously have faith in contact tracing and not be solely reliant on them. And that any action Dan Andrews takes against covid automatically equated to a failure of contact tracers. A concept that mysteriously disappears where Gladys does a similar thing and everyone fawns over how gold standard everything she does is.
I’m usually a fan of Leigh, but i thought her questions were pretty out of touch, at one point saying “but hospitals are not overrun with covid, why are you doing this?”. Translation: “Why don’t you have a strategy more like Boris Johnson where you wait for thousands to be dying every day to do something about it?” exactly what melbounians wanted to hear . She seemed perplexed that Dan had a decent snapback to her hard hitting question.
I don’t think that is true. There has been lots of praise for Andrews here, as well as criticism of Berejiklian. There are diverse views.
That is a really good idea. That it could be up and running in a few weeks but the feds have sat on their hands for a year is pathetic.
Now Morrison needs to put up the money, get it built, and have AQIS run it (which is their job, after all), then build more of them around the country (close to hospitals).
Enough of hotels; they should only every have been temporary.
But will the media push the (federal) government to do their job & get these built?
The ABC reports that the Northern Territory Government has revoked its hotspot declaration for Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, meaning travellers can again transit through the airport on their way to NT without having to quarantine.
VIC Government looking at a purpose built HQ outside the CBD, similar to Howard Springs. Looking at Melbourne Airport and/or Avalon Airport.
A team will be sent to the NT to examine the HQ facility at Howard Springs.
I really like this idea of having somewhere outside the city near Avalon airport. With the Hotel’s being such confined spaces and hallways being an issue, its definitely starting to seem that cabin style quarantine would be a better option.
and where is Albanese on this issue? never thought i’d see the day where I’d be encouraging an opposition leader to be more opportunistic, but he should be screaming this issue from the rooftops.
Too busy playing with IR laws that the majority of the nation does not give two shits about at the moment.
