0 locally acquired cases for the 7th straight day.
Assuming we can close this thread now?
Donāt tempt fate. Someone will end up becoming a super spreader out here and we will be back in lockdown.
Sewage in parts of Sydney is still detecting COVID, so the chances are it may well be circulating.
Testing numbers are just above 10,000 each day, itās not good enough to determine that the virus has been eliminated.
What do you propose to do?? Force people to get tested?
At some point testing numbers will drop - people arenāt going to get tested if they arenāt exhibiting symptoms or have not come into contact with someone who has been recently infected.
Indeed. Perhaps the NSW government should do random testing in the areas where sewerage shows the virus is present?
And in light of a positive case announced in NZ yesterday:
They are only getting positive sewerage tests in areas with known cases that are either still in isolation or are now shedding the virus which can take weeks/months after the infectious period.
Iām assuming they are just being cautious which is a good thing. Hopefully more people in that area get tested as they does still seem to be missing links in the cluster. So clearly undiagnosed covid positive people out there still.

- Wow!
Thing is i donāt think that outbreak caused a lockdown.
not creating a thread for every new outbreak.
