Here’s SA’s roadmap (or part of it, will update it as it happens):
November 23 (approximately 80% double vaccinated for 16+): Border restrictions removed for double vaccinated travellers into SA. International quarantine requirement go from 14 days to 7 days for vaccinated travellers. Home gatherings to go from 20 to 30. Other restrictions still in place.
Early December (approximately 90% double vaccinated for 16+): International travellers who are double vaccinated do not have to quarantine upon entering.
Seems quite vague so far. Surely when we hit 90% fully jabbed capacity caps could be increased and some other restrictions could be slightly adjusted by then?
Do you have to have a test before you enter? I can’t see that anywhere. So it appears only QLD and TAS require you to test negative before entering. If so, they’ll soon drop that then if it’s just those two doing it.
Great to see that we’re looking to have what is hopefully some degree of consistency nationally once 90% DD is reached. Won’t happen overnight of course, but certainly trending that way.
There is an asterisk on the bottom of the roadmap saying that quarantine applies if you come from a location with <80% double dose vax and community transmission
Its interesting because Nicola Superier wen’t on to suggest if you are coming from LGA with 80-90% you need to log in to an app for a symptom check every day and get a test and isolate until you receive a negative. She said if you are from a 90% vaccination LGA then you still have to log in for the symptom check but don’t need the test. It is just so confusing. And I question, as someone who lives in the LGA of Melbourne, whether I will ever be able to go to SA because my LGA is under the 80%. They are also mentioning a test 3 days prior to leaving.
That roadmap doesn’t add up to what they are saying in the press conference. This is probably the most confusing roadmap I have seen.
Did you listen to the entire press conference? I listened to it and I think there are a lot more hoops to jump through than that.
From what I understand:
If you come from an LGA with vaccinations between 80-90% you must get tested 3 days prior and when you arrive. You must then use the SA health app daily to do a symptoms check.
If you come from an LGA with a vaccination rate greater than 90% you do not need to be tested but still need to do the symptom test.
That roadmap graphic is just completely inaccurate to what they actually announced.
That means people from other states will have to check their own state’s COVID website to find out the double vaccination rate of their home council area, and follow the instructions.
