It wonât be any different here - once businesses are allowed to return to full staffing - many will do so the moment that is allowed even when employees would prefer to remain work from home.
It really just depends on the mindset of the people running the business, some just remain opposed to WFH and are only allowing it while they have no choice.
And the Americans wonder why theyâre the worst affected country in the world. Almost 11 months in and they still havenât figured out basic hotel quarantine as a rule across the nation.
Their government and coronavirus taskforce is absolutely useless.
I know my work are talking about working from home in a hybrid system. I just know that the government and our work are going to want to return to the office at some point to help boost the economy. At the end of the day every Melbourne business is going to want that.
Why arenât we testing travelers before they board? Most of the rest of the world require a negative test before traveling. So why arenât we doing it?
I donât think you are understanding what I am saying. We should be forcing returning travelers to return a negative test before travelling to Australia.
Oh I see. Yeah that ainât happening. We canât control what other countries do. The only way to make that happen is if individuals seek their own testing and show Australian authorities proof. But even then we canât stop the other countries from letting them on the flight at their end.
Really? How is it a shit thing to say what the reality actually is? The vaccine will be here in a number of weeks. Fact. Can it come sooner? Probably. However authorities want to be 100% sure theyâre safe.
Iâm really sorry to hear youâve lost your great-grandmother but you really cannot compare the two countries. Australia is in a vastly different position to the UK. We arenât in dire need of the vaccine and we have time to make sure itâs done correctly.
Victoria deputy CHO Professor Allen Cheng has provided quite an insight into why the vaccine is taking longer here than in other countries. Essentially, they are getting it under emergency provisions with a disclaimer that not all the data is available yet, whereas in Australia we are fortunate in that our case load is much different to their situation and it is better to wait.
