Wasnāt it hyped-up to be the area from within you could travel without having to quarantine upon arrival (& return)?
No they still need to quarantine on return to NZ. Itās just quarantine free arrival into Sydney.

I really hope the Sunday announcement gives us a good timeframe for getting to the full step 3, I get not everything will open from Sunday but fingers crossed itās a step 3a this week and 3b next week.
If numbers keep trending how they are we will be down at 5 soon enough.
Really shows how much of an impact a couple of clusters can have when you start getting so low!
Thatās not really the defining number so muchā¦ itās more the 17 unknown mystery cases. That number shows that the virus is still there within the community. But this should go down soon.

The travel bubble means the Kiwis can only travel to NSW and NT only at this stage. I think they should have been warned of this before they left New Zealand yesterday.

All but one of locally transmitted cases reported in the period are close contacts of a known case linked to the cluster at Greater Beginnings Childcare Centre in Oran Park, which has reached 18 cases.

18,000 tests in Vic yesterday is the biggest testing day since 6th September. There has also been a reclassification, so is a net increase of 0 cases and positive test rate is 0%.

Just admit it was an oversight and fix the short term problem. Itās clear Victoria is no longer getting the federal support from Canberra.
