Travel is one-way. From NZ to Australia.
seems like Scomo has finally found some leverage over states, wonder if Qld will bite?
Seems strange South Australia isnāt part of that. They are pretty much the most opened state.
If NSW and NT have signed up to Scomoās definition of a hotspot, that should mean they should be opening their borders to regional Vic in the coming days. Unless they admit they have a higher threshold for Vic to conform to than NZ.
I made a new topic
Cheeky dig from Telstra
(Premier Peter Gutwein) said the situation in New South Wales was looking promising, but they would be keeping an eye on it over the next week.
āI would hope that Victoria would be able to get on top of this to a point where it was safe enough to open up toā¦ but if itās not safe, we wonāt be opening to it.ā
The Metro Melb 14 day average has dropped to 12. So will be around 7 new cases today.
Donāt know why thereās a delay in the tweet but this average has been updated on DHHS website already.
Victoriaās latest numbers -
Unfortunatelyā¦ the 14 day average is going to slow down now.
Yeah 14 days ago we were getting 11, 13 cases so unless we stay well below 10 from here on, the average is going to flatline.
Also the # cases in hospital has been stubbornly in the 30-40 range for a long time. Seems like the net hospital cases is reducing at a slower rate than people are dying.
With so few new cases in the state it would seem your chances are not good if you go to a hospital in Victoria.
No new cases in Queensland overnight. 6 active cases.
In 2 days time it will mark 250 days since the virus was first detected in Queensland.
Well the 7 day average is 10. We seem to be trending towards more days of single digits so I think we are trending pretty much where we need to be. Itās a bit of luck at this point now as one new outbreak or cluster can boost the numbers up.
I still think the unknown source number is what will ultimately matter the most and that number will drop quite low in a few days time.
All three deaths recorded today are linked to aged care.
A total of 34 Victorians are in hospital with COVID-19. Four of those are ICU and three of those four are on a ventilator.
11,281 test were conducted yesterday.
There are two active cases in regional Victoria.
There are 94 active cases in aged care and one active case in a disability facility (a staff member)
Meanwhile, NSW has reported a new COVID-19 case, in hotel quarantine.

VICās latest numbers -
The rolling 14 day average for Metro Melbourne decreases by 0.1 but the cases with unknown source increases by 2 from yesterday.
Also, regional Victoria increased its 14 day average from yesterday.
The 14 day average dropped due to yesterdayās reclassifications. Donāt expect it to drop much tomorrow either unless itās a very low number as 2 weeks ago we had a couple single digit days. Although then we have 2 days in mid 20s boosting they average up so should drop more on Tues/Wed.
Victorian chief health officer Brett Sutton said this morning that the new case from Mitchell Shire is linked to the Butcher Club outbreak at Chadstone shopping centre. There are now 20 cases linked to this cluster. Overall, there are now three active cases in regional Victoria.
