I’m sorry all for confusing you all on here. I know COVID disease will never disappear but I’d like to see life we saw up until end of 2019 to be returned (Such as having no information at all on Social media as well as weekly reportings publicly being released).
Time for a change of subject…
Has anyone had a COVID booster shot this year yet?
I went to see my pharmacist about getting one, and they said they are not doing them anymore (though I got one there last year). I am going overseas in September and feel like it would be a wise thing to do (despite getting side effects on 4 of the 5 doses so far).
They told me to see a doctor about getting one, which surprised me a bit, as I thought they’d be looking to take pressure off GP clinics, not adding to their already high workload.
You know it can be like that though right? You don’t have to read the figures each week. I couldn’t tell you for the life of me where to find them. I’m in ignorant bliss about the bloody disease. If it’s coming up on your socials try to unfollow the source of the information.
today i learned that the Department of Health in Victoria is still publishing a weekly report on covid but I had to do some digging to find it. It’s not even prominent on their website. If the topic hadn’t come up here I’d have continued to be blissfully unaware of it, as I reckon 99% of Victorians also are
I had a flu shot in April. Still managed to get a bad flu in May/June which lasted more than 4 weeks. It might have even been two separate flus because I had recovered after three weeks for a few days but then seemed to have a relapse or a different flu for another week or so. Had COVID tests twice so it wasn’t that either.
Took my elderly parents to GP to have their flu shots in May. I asked about COVID shots for them and he said not to worry about it since they’ve already had 4 shots. However, he recommended they have Shingles shots so they did in May and need to have another in August.
You can’t be serious?? That’s what happened to me. I had the flu for 1.5 weeks and recovered over the weekend. I’ve got it back yesterday and now have a cough too.
Covid?
Na not Covid.
Yes. It’s different from flus I’ve had in the past.
No sore throat. Usually that’s how it starts. It was sneezing, runny nose and then a cough.
I don’t have a sore throat either. The exact symptoms you have. Weird. Twinzies!
I guess it’s a flu that’s going around, which was not one of the ones included in the flu vax. I know a few quite a few who have had it (not from me though) and a lot of them had the flu vax this year.
Another subject change on here: Who here will be watching Seven News Spotlight this Sunday which will talk about the first 24 months of the Pandemic?
not me. We lived it we don’t need a rehash of it.
I almost feel that since everything has gone back to normal most people have adopted this attitude towards 2020 and 2021.
I’m booked in for Jab #6 next week, mostly because I’m going overseas in September. Hoping not to get side effects again.
Somehow that reminds me.
When I was in England recently, an American in my touring group told me they went to a family reunion in early 2020, just when the pandemic was starting to unravel.
There were about 100 people there, I was flabbergasted when she told me 27 relatives died from COVID as a result of that.
There were also a lot of people on my tour who got COVID during the trip. At least no one died this time. I didn’t get it (or not that I know of!). I had my 6th vaccine just before I went, that might have saved me.
