But North Korea has access to Chinese and Russian made vaccines.
Not that they’re that effective anyway compared to the likes of Pfizer, Moderna or even AstraZeneca or JJ.
I somehow doubt North Korea would’ve done a good job on vaccinating their residents whilst they were (and still are) locked from the outside world, considering that’s the attitude that’s got China into the current mess they’re in right now.
EDIT: It seems that North Korea even rejected Chinese-made Sinovac vaccines donated to them. Goes to show how their leadership really thought they were above any country and the virus.
Not just an American vaccine they have reportedly refused help from any country.
Victorian chief health officer Brett Sutton has tested positive to COVID.
I’d this the second time he’s had it?
If you believe in science and just plain old human deceny, don’t bother reading the replies.
It took me a while to get my first dose (September) and second dose in November. I got the booster as soon as I was able to in mid Feb… part of me wishes I held off until April or even May-June-ish. Ideally I don’t want to have 4+ covid vaccinations a year.
Will have to see how things go over winter, one of my workplace’s has had multiple cases over the last week. Bit crazy when I’m one of the few still taking precautions - wearing a mask (I figure no point taking it on/off/on/off when I’m automatically wearing it on public transport) and I partake in ‘extreme social distancing’ (while most people bunch up at the shops these days be it along walkways or escalators… I try and maintain a 5m distance between myself and others).
This seems like a reasonable and proportional approach to life. You can probably continue like this for decades to come. Just to be safe
Ardern’s partner and their daughter also have COVID.
I wonder if the recent infections of Brett Sutton and Jacinda Ardern are the result of Cookers using some mysterious form of witchcraft in order for them to get COVID.
Just trying to do what I feel is common sense, no need to be shoulder to shoulder with people if you can avoid doing so. I’ve never really liked my personal space being ‘invaded’.
Just prior to and after Lockdown 6 (Victoria) ended, I was encouraging social distancing where possible (eg: someone standing directly behind me on an escalator for example) and the reaction would be “oh but covid is over now”.
Is this a joke or?
How long will you keep people 5 meters away from you? Like, forever? Because that’s how long covid will be around
Well as I said I was never fond of people invading my personal space prior to covid. This just gives me an excuse to keep people away because of “germs”
Are fourth doses available to everyone now?
No, as ATAGI only recommended an additional booster (4th or 5th dose, depending on the group as some that are immunocompromised received a third primary dose before the booster program commenced) to the following groups:
- Adults aged 65 years and older
- Residents of aged care or disability care facilities
- People aged 16 years and older with severe immunocompromise (as defined in the ATAGI statement on the use of a 3rd primary dose of COVID-19 vaccine in individuals who are severely immunocompromised)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and older.
The above statement explains their reasoning why it’s not recommended (which realistically translates to not permitted) in other groups.
SA yesterday ended its major emergency declaration for COVID, after 793 days.
