I tested positive for the first time today. My symptoms are much worse than everyone else that has had it once or twice before. No one seems to believe me that I’m actually feeling sick and struggled to get out of bed. They are so used to everyone having a second infection with little or no symptoms.
Did anyone else have a really lucid dream the night before testing positive. One of my friends and me did, but there isn’t much on the internet about it.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope you start to feel better soon.
I do think people take for granted that it can affect others differently to themselves and these days there is almost a dismissive attitude from a lot of people based on them having a milder case.
When I had it mid last year, I found the main unique symptom to be a particularly sharp barking cough (different to when I have a standard cold).
The federal government on Tuesday night accepted the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation’s updated advice, which comes into effect on February 20 and prefers Omicron-specific mRNA booster vaccines. However, it said all available COVID-19 vaccines would provide a benefit.
The ATAGI experts particularly recommended everyone at risk of severe illness – considered to be those aged 65 and over as well as younger adults with comorbidities, disability or complex needs – line up for an additional jab.
The new advice does not guarantee Australians will be able to receive a new booster every six months – further recommendations will be determined based on ATAGI’s surveillance of infection rates, new variants and vaccine effectiveness.
I dunno. I’m certainly no anti vaxxer but he has a point. There’s no other vaccines that we take in our lives so regularly so why is this one different? How much is too much?
Yeah childhood vaccines but after that’s about it in the grand scheme of things. Flu vaccines and whooping cough every now and then but again, certainly not as frequently as they want us to take the COVID one.
A lot of people have the flu vaccine every year, especially the elderly and those susceptible.
I started having them about ten years ago. On year. I worked in an office where we had pods of six people facing each other. The flus just ran rampant every winter. I didn’t have it one year and I ended up having the flu four times that year.
It’s a Mrna vax which has the side affect of myocarditis. I’m glad he’s pointing it out. You seem to be the devil when you don’t agree with the majority
It’s completely reasonable to ask questions. That’s Karl’s job.
It’s a matter of public record that some people have suffered adverse events or developed chronic conditions such as myocarditis. Pfizer is open about this and it’s on the public record.
The question is, was it Covid that caused the condition to develop? or the vaccination? or a result of people neglecting their heart health at the height of the pandemic? (missed GP appointments, lack of specialist referrals etc). It’s likely a combination of these, but there is a lack of nuance in public debate.
I don’t think we should shutdown journalists or label them anti vaxxers for asking a question.
We live in the real world and know there is also an obvious profit motive from pharmaceutical companies. That’s their job.
I’ve had the vaccine and the booster. Individuals can continue to choose whether they proceed with further vaccinations and should do so with as much info as possible.
