A possibility, though I was thinking the ACMA was looking at stations that could work together, but who knows, only time will tell on that front .
I think Harmony have little chance of being awarded the licence. They say they are broadcasting for seniors, when the licence is a general geographic one - ACMA will generally favour stations that cater to a broad audience, where young and old can get involved and is locally produced. I only hear locally produced programs in the afternoon on Harmony.
I do have to say, I was very impressed with StarterFM the other day. Sounding great! Probably too narrow of a format for the Hawkesbury community licence, but hey, why not have a go on 89.9 while youâve got the chance and have a bit of fun with it. TheChase - I really do hope you are able to get off the ground somehow in the futureâŚwho knows! ACMA have made some left field decisions in the past!
With Hawkesbury Radio and Hawkesbury Gold merging to become Hawk fm, does this mean they get two bites of the cherry and can broadcast 12pm Friday to 12pm Monday under the one entity Hawk fm?
I wonder if this also gives the merged Hawk fm access to the site at Burralow Rd, or would this be a breach of the Hawkesbury Gold TCL?
The merging of Hawkesbury Radio and Hawkesbury Gold can only lead to good things. From what ive been told, both organisations have an excellent history with both ASIC and ACMA. It is my impression that both Hawkesbury Gold and Hawkesbury Radio are highly regarded by the various authorities and should have a bright future. Well done to all involved.
I would ask that all parties refrain from âtrash talkingâ in the forum- we donât need these petty community radio disputes to spill over here. It is a shame what has happened up there in the Hawkesbury to be honest.
2RPH starts transmission on 93.3:
From January 2022, 2RPH will proudly extend our services to Wollongong and the Illawarra on 93.3FM
You can pick it up now.
I assume at the same time Newcastle breaks away for a reading from the âNewcastle Heraldâ. 93.3 will do the same for the âIllawarra Mercuryâ.
That explains the mysterious signal I got on that Frequency mixing with 5-0. Thought it was RN at first. I assume its from Brokers Nose or Saddleback.
According to ACMA, 2RPH 93.3 is transmitting out of Brokers Nose.
It is much lower power then Kix Country and VOX, 500W omnidirectional to protect Radio 50+ Gosford.
I doubt I will receive it here Radio 50+ is too strong even with no ducting.
Just a reminder that Starter FM will begin itâs second test broadcast from midday tomorrow. Iâll be presenting my own show on Starter from 10am Friday morning through to the midday sign off. Iâll be playing everything from 1930s big band right through to 70s 80s pop to current top 40. This week Iâll be counting down the top 25 singles from this week in 1986.
Sounds like a great show! Good luck with the broadcast.
Thanx, good to be involved with a station that generally has a great vibe, and a positive outlook. Been involved with these folk now for a few years, and so far all has been going well, itâs great helping others, and just to know that they appreciate a volunteers efforts is enough to feel that one is giving back behind the scenes as well as being on the air.
I am assuming this will be available through the Starter FM stream? Great that youâre involved in radio again, @anonymousbroadcaster . I do miss your old station, though. I will tune in (it is, handily, before my own show on Braidwood FM on Fri arvo).
Thanks for the sentiments, much appreciated. I tried looking through the Braidwood FM website, and assumed your program was around midday? I could only find The Magazine at 10:am and the Conga Line at 3:pm, I donât think theyâve listed your show on the stations schedule? Please let me know, would love to tune in.
As far as the days of 2PR FM, the music library has seen a massive upgrade (both in sound quality and selection. The new format can be listen in at Starter FM who have greciously given me a sub channel at The Fresh Mix - Starter FM or alternatively the fresh mixâs website at:: http://www.thefreshmix.com . Please note however this isnât 24 7 yet, as itâs being operated from a home computer, in a testing configuration, itâs a work in progress. Iâm glad to be back in radio, but in a hobby capacity, I was too involved before, and just no longer want to get involved with the politics of broadcasting which has become rather toxic and bitter. The environment we have is forward looking and progressively positive.
âThe Conga Lineâ is the show that @dxnerd hosts at the 3pm timeslot on Braidwood FM. Listened to it a few times while on a walk.
The Conga Line is me.
I also do the Billy Bob Show Tuesdays at 7 PM, but I reckon the Friday one is more your style. Retro hits from the 80s to the early 2000s, mostly forgotten. Tuesday is free form or album rock.
Unfortunately we are getting an NBN modem replaced this week (the old one got fried by a lightning strike two weeks ago, when I was on air)! So the stream may be still off Friday- hopefully not.
Iâll tune in if not this week, will try again next, look forward to a listen.
Casey radio in Melbourne plays alright music does anyone else like casey radio
