Community Radio

Another possibility is Skype.

Have noticed that they have a video stream on Facebook Live.

Listening to the Mardi Gras :rainbow: :rainbow: tonight via 94.9 Melbourne and the OB audio quality seems to be the same as Midsumma back in January.

Apparently they are broadcasting on SBS Radio 3 which is on AM too??? and not 2SER like other years.

I just tuned to SBS Radio 3 via the SBS-7 multiplex here in Melbourne and the audio seems to be sh!t.

The hosts also said that they are on the CRN, so is there some sort of audio bitrate issue on D1/D2.

Looks i’m going back on the couch on my 396 with muffled audio.

As Cartman would say, it sounds gay!

99.7 in Brisbane/Redcliffe today were on very low power. Couldn’t even receive the station around the Redcliffe Jetty

For a minute, I thought you were talking about ‘Cartman’ from that other forum.

No loss there, the station is run as a closed shop. This is a great exemplar as to what happens when a clique of a few people take over a community station.

A bland, consistent format with mass automation is what would have happened to BAY FM if the minority with their squeaky wheels looking for grease had fooled enough members.

TEN FM, a once proud solus station is also struggling for talent to fill their on air roster, there’s another symptom of community radio mismanagement.

Paul Harris’ “Film Buffs Forecast” to finish up on 3RRR after 30+ years. http://www.rrr.org.au/whats-going-on/news/film-buffs-forecast-announcement/

So much hyperbole from people angry at this decision. There’s no loyalty in radio; he’s lucky to have lasted 36 years at a community station (and one as well run as 3RRR). Time to move on methinks.

Looks like a reprieve in this - the show is to remain in its current timeslot for the time being. http://www.rrr.org.au/whats-going-on/news/new-film-buff-s-forecast-announcement/

99.7 Bridge FM Redcliffe now stream online

Thanks; I’ve been wanting to sample them for a while, considering the favourable reviews that our Cane Toads have given them, governance problems notwithstanding. The website leaves me none the wiser; here is the direct link that I had to source from a third party.

Indeed. An understatement.

Not an uncommon occurrence in community radio unfortunately.

Meanwhile, did Bay FM sort their sh*t out? I saw something about it a few weeks back saying they’d reelected a committee but haven’t heard much since
