Well done. He joins some other great broadcasters in there. Smoky Dawson, John Laws, Nick Erby.

Rhema 105.1 still not fixed. Seems like they have stopped the audio input and now it is all just buzzing.

Coincidently(?) Kix on 92.3 is a blank carrier today. Yesterday it was sounding very overmodulated

RIM down at the markets this morning.

Playing a Breeze type mix of bizarre Australian obscurities. My shazam is struggling.

Black and blue - Chain
A rose must die - Australian Jigsaw
Goondiwindi Grey - Tex Morton
Gotta love it.

Rhema 105.1 signal is fixed.

Forget all that water into wine nonsense- this is the true miracle.

Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us a competent broadcast engineer.

Ironically the signal has been wiped out by ABC FM from Renmark tonight

And speaking of miracles, other community stations also seem to be sounding much better

Koori 93.7 Sydney - sounds like the left/right imbalance is fixed?

Pulse 89.9 Hawkesbury- as above and intermittent drop outs seem to have gone.

2CHR 96.5 Cessnock - also had a left/right audio issue similar to Koori, fixed too

2WKT 107.1 Bowral - buzzing sound seems to have gone.

Any update on 2RSR- still on reduced power? There may be a chance at 2BRW until the early morning as we have an easterly at the moment, though I notice you aren’t reporting much coastal tropo tonight.

Yeah, not much coastal (from the south anyway), didn’t hear 2BRW.

Koori 93.7 sounds like AAC+/DAB+ to me. The trebles sound very tinny/artifical.

Yep. Even in Sydney, on some of my tuners it doesn’t come in at all at the moment.

Yes, apparently they’ve been feeding FM off DAB for sometime now, even when they were having the left/ right audio issue.

I’m not sure I’d say the Koori Left/Right imbalance was fixed looking at the FM Transmitter input levels on Thursday & Friday, but it’s much better than it was & is close to level, but not quite there yet.

And yes, the Koori FM has been fed off air from the Koori DAB+ for about 5 years now I’d say, possibly longer. They installed a new NBN Co. studio to transmitter link roughly 6 months ago, but it’s never worked reliably or at all since install, so they’ve never switched over to using it yet & I don’t know when they will, because currently it doesn’t work at all.

How is it on TVCL South? Might be worth trying for Braidwood FM via aircraft scatter (I don’t think tropo is good enough presently). The reflections would be fairly weak so 2RSR would need to be barely there.

It’s there on the south antenna, but weak and distorted. Haven’t had any reception of Braidwood yet, as far as I know.

Former long-time 2ST (as well as former one-half of Power FM’s Bacon Boys) presenter, Pete Brandtman, will be returning to local Shoalhaven radio, presenting Tuesday breakfast on 2UUU, starting from tomorrow (28th January).

Wondered how long it’d take for Pete to reappear. Good.

Will be interesting for how many Tuesdays Pete tolerates the different dynamics of community radio.

Only Tuesdays, so I gather 2UUU isn’t the most consistent nor emulating commercial or national broadcasters.

Oh nice. Triple U is a great station. The South Coast is the home of the ex commercial radio Petes, what with Pete Diskon (ex 2EC) on 2EAR breakfast a couple of days a week.

2YOU FM transfers to Tamworth Broadcast Services

After new imaging and a rebrand last year for Tamworth’s 88.9FM, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has now approved the transfer of the community broadcast licence of 2YOU FM, Tamworth Broadcasting Society Inc, to Tamworth Broadcast Services (TBS) the operators of 88.9 FM and 99.5 FM. The society has held the licence since 1983 under NSW Trade Practices.

What will this mean for the station?
