2RSR seems to be back to full power now. 2BLU still open carrier.
For eight years, Youth Jam Radio has been giving young people a voice, 24/7.
But now, as the cost of living continues to bite, the tough decision has been made to switch off Youth Jam’s radio station.
Instead, Youth Jam will scale up its podcasting and digital media divisions with the aim of continuing to provide young West Aussies with a voice and platform.
Youth Jam’s 24/7 radio station will continue to broadcast until February 14 at 6pm (AWST). The network’s array of podcasts will launch on February 15 at 8am.
The Wake Up Call with Bo & Steph can be heard live every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 6 and 7 am on Adelaide’s Fresh 92.7
One hour a day for three days a week? A far cry from Fresh’s previous efforts at chasing down Nova’s audience.
Back Roads featured an indigenous run community radio station at Warakurna on 107.7. Couldn’t see the ACMA listing.
Listed in the database as 107.5 FM.
3MDR and Cairns FM 89.1 turn 40
4CCR , now Cairns FM 89.1 (their team pictured above) launched on February 8, 1985, the first radio station in the region on the FM band.
3MDR started on 89.9 FM , and in 1990 settled at 97.1 FM when their full broadcasting licence was granted.
Gee I didn’t know 4CCR went to air that early. I wonder what their format was in 1985 when they launched?
Speaking of 89.1 2BLU Katoomba is STILL broadcasting dead air, been like this for weeks.
Their website has small text saying they are currently streaming only, no info on why or when they’ll be back on FM. No phone number to ring either.
Did they call the station “True Blue FM”? ![]()
2 sounds so much like True.
I’ve only ever known it to be “Radio Blue Mountains” or “RBM FM” as per RDS
But think of the jingles using this classic
Kicking off this week, Scarlett Coppola will host a brand-new music show: Night Shift with Scarlett.
This will be on top of her duties as a cadet journalist in the Tamworth station’s regional newsroom.
Looks like the news simulcast has been dropped from Territory FM now. Alice’s Attic with Alice Cooper now running instead 6pm - 10pm each weeknight.
I saw this one coming. I mean, after all, why would Darwin locals want to listen to Brisbane news in the car? Surely those who had Territory FM turned on for the news would’ve turned off once they started hearing about Queensland news, right?
The station probably knew that if they continued to simulcast Queensland news, they would’ve potentially lost a big chunk of their audience. It made sense to dump it now, rather than run the risk of losing listeners by continuing to simulcast Brisbane news.
Keep Territory FM local, for Darwin, and for the NT. ![]()
Blue Mountains 89.1 now back on FM.
Wait, is that Fresh92.7’s current or new brekkie show? I thought they just announced a new duo only a few days ago?
Now 2SSR Sutherland 99.7 has gone off-air.
