Realistically this will never be a viable option, but I’d personally love to live in a warmer climate during Winter and a cooler one in Summer! 
Of course another advantage of choosing Canberra instead of Tasmania would be that the national capital isn’t as isolated from everything! 
Since this is Media Spy we’re on, I’d probably also say that the local media landscape is reasonably good compared to those in most other places of regional Australia.
The far South Coast of NSW (Ulladulla-Eden) is probably your best bet locally. Winters are pretty much as warm as Sydney by day, but summer temperatures are usually milder. The Narooma area as close to the coast as possible would be best, to avoid winter frosts. Narooma is usually the last town to get hot westerly winds as well, due to the shielding effect of Gulaga/Mount Dromedary.
If you want warmer winters than Sydney, you’ll have to put up with more torrid summers, though in recent years Port Macquarie and Coffs have been no worse than coastal Sydney for heat and humidity. Going outside Australia, Port Elizabeth in South Africa reaches 20-21C in winter but only 26C in summer; this is due to extreme moderation from the warm Agulhas current. There’s ocean on two sides which means it rarely gets extremely hot there.
Myself, I prefer a good dose of winter weather and mild- pleasantly warm and dry (not humid) summers. Can’t have that on the Aussie mainland unfortunately, unless you live at the ski resorts :(. The Canberra region does fit this description for most of the year, though.
I heard on the Bureau of Meteorology and realised that it was Australias hottest day on record. THe average maximum temperature across the country was 40.9 degrees Celsius, which surpassed the previous record of 40.3 degrees Celsius back in 7 January 2013. Central Australia was blistering hot.

I think the best place for @SydneyCityTV would be Lord Howe Island or Norfolk Island; can’t believe I forgot about them. Winter temperatures are very mild; about 19-20 for maximum and early- mid teens overnight. Summer temperatures are of course mild with near zero chance of anything above 30C. I find Norfolk is a little cooler than Lord Howe despite being closer to the tropics, probably because Lord Howe gets some residual heat off the mainland. Both islands would yield some killer DX as well.
I would go a little stir crazy on these islands, though.

Norfolk Island has also been featured on ABC-TV’s “Escape From The City” (the Aussie adaptation of “Escape To The Country”) earlier this year, in which it was featured on Episode 5. It’s not on iview now though.
Tassie has also been featured on two epsiodes of the series: 22 (Greater Hobart) & 47 (Launceston). The Eurobodalla region on the South Coast was on Episode 24.
These two were cities last time I checked! But of course you can escape from most of the problems of the big cities there.
In terms of climate, you have to be careful about where you live within a certain area. The Eurobodalla/South Coast is an example of this; places like Moruya and Bodalla are quite a bit warmer in summer than one might expect. Unfortunately all the Bureau’s weather stations in the area are right on the coastal fringe. Batemans Bay can also get quite hot.
Even some inland parts of Tassie are warmer than you’d expect, such as the upper Derwent Valley (New Norfolk-Ouse) and the Midlands. But of course they are still pleasant enough by mainland standards.

Sounds like myself in Darwin. The climate up here is forever getting hotter every year and almost unliveable at the moment, with 37 degrees everyday for 6 months with a high humidity, making it feel like 41.
I never actually found it that bad years ago, but times have changed and Darwin’s modern structures seen everywhere you look aren’t designed for the climate, more like Brisbane or Sydney. I’m most likely gonna be shifting my business and part-time job to the southern states by June.

I heard on the Weather observations and noticed that Nullarbor hit a top of 50 degrees. It was the hottest day on record in Nullarbor. Eucla also had a top of 49.3 degrees today. Hottest day on record in Eucla.
While in Perth, we had a cooler day with a bit of rain.
