Another thing I found a bit interesting that is NRTV didn’t show the live Rugby League game which was on TEN at 4.30am (Penrith v Wigan) given it was starting to align to that network.

This would have been just before NRTV replaced 10 Eyewitness News with NRTV Evening News hour. Although I dont remember Ducktale being on at 5pm, it is possible that when the News changeover happened that Happy Days was returned to 5pm and Blind Date at 5:30.

At that point Happy Days was starting to be used as a fill in, much like Get Smart many years earlier

Also Sale was being written off everywhere in 1991, Tony Barber finished up in April that year and very little initial confidence it would continue to be successful, so likely that also factored into decisions to not find space for it.

Since today is the 1st day of the Brisbane Ashes Test, this is how Sydney & NSW viewers saw the same Test in the 1994/95 series (25 November 1994). And there were still 30 min highlights of the cricket late at night as well.

Interesting to see that NBN opted to screen ‘Sale’ during the cricket lunch break at 1pm, but WIN didn’t show it at all that day… for the record their usual screenings during 1994 were 3.30pm on NBN, 5pm on WIN.

interesting that today the Australian Open golf is on 9, and the test cricket from the Gabba is on 7. Back in 1994 it was the opposite

Same with tennis these days too.. on the opposite network to their ‘original’ home network.

I noticed the Midday special at 8:30pm, was this before it came back as a 1 hour program with Tracy and David?

Back when there were H&A Friday episodes. Does anyone know when these ended and the Wednesday/Thursday episodes became Movie-length episodes? I’m thinking it was sometime after 2006 when Seven regained the AFL Rights.

The start of the 2013 AFL season, with Better Homes and Gardens moving to 7.00 (and 7two in Melbourne and Adelaide when the AFL is on).

I feel the double/triple episodes on Thursday’s is one of the reasons it’s not as successful at 7.00 as it used to be.

On 10, Bold and Beautiful during this era was aired at 1:00 PM (Local time), approximately 15-18 months before the shift to the current timeslot of 4:30 PM. If only 10 can revive the 1:00 PM Airing time on 10 Drama and keep the main channel airing time of 4:30 PM as it has been since 1996.

10Drama has Days Of Our Lives at 12pm and Young And The Restless at 12:45pm, so how would that work?

Another Gabba Ashes Test cricket themed one…

Saturday 24 November 1990 (though this one is Day 2 as they mostly started on a Friday back then).

ABC Sydney viewers were at the Golf whilst the regionals were at the cricket. Not sure how NBN managed to make a rugby league Test run for a 3.5 hours (even Ten’s was only 2.5 hours). Perhaps not a fully complete guide? Ausmusic 90 on Seven with a 2MMM FM simulcast (FM simulcasts - ah those were the days!). Still thought how it was odd that Prime didn’t get listed here.

Was this a Metropolitan edition?

I think so, but there is a ‘Northern’ edition as there is a variation of this guide that has Brisbane channels listed along with Prime NEN, Prime CBN and NRTV.

As per this one that @Petarkco posted for 7 July 1990 a few months ago.

The thing that puzzled me back then was that on the Saturday afternoons as to why Prime didn’t drop one episode of Get Smart and air The Mouse Factory at 1pm and then screen Cross Country at 8:30am so they could screen The Super Sunday Show at 6:30am.

Alternatively The Mouse Factory could have been at 5pm and Cross Country at 5:30pm with the above suggestions for Sunday being the same.

The fact these regional variations were for just 1 program
