Random time, But that would be an example of one of the shows WWF would primarily send out to international markets as a recap show though I think Superstars might still have been airing on cable in the U.S. at that point.

Always thought that if say 9 or 10 is showing a hr recap of a wrestling show that they would get to show a PPV on delay after a certain time. I guess either Optus or foxtel had the rights to the events.

Before PPV became a thing here didn’t they used to show them on FTA on a several month delay?

Looks like Ten did show PPV events including the very first Wrestlemania for a few years in the 80s.

Nothing after that from what i’ve seen

That’s not too bad but the best place to watch such stuff from that era at the time was foxtel or Optus.

Is the Prime Local News listed at 6pm a mistake (for a Saturday)?

Prime used to have their own composite bulletin on weekends in Northern NSW until it was axed in February 2001.

Here’s an example from 1998.

Didn’t know that happened - but makes a lot of sense given NBN were 7 nights a week.

The version of The Mission for the coming up in sports sounds weird - almost like a MIDI rendition of it.

IIRC, Channel Ten in December of 1998 aired that year’s Survivor Series to promote WWF Superstars being moved from 12 AM Fridays to Saturday nights during the non ratings summer period.

I looked on the TV Guide and noticed that Perth had 2x Nine News. I wondered who read the 3pm during the Games? Because I noticed that Dixie Marshall read the News at 6pm. I noticed in WIN territory, that they skipped the 3pm news and instead had Neighbours. They didn’t have the 6pm news and instead had a very late news at 11pm (via Ten Late News).
In WA, they had the NRL at a very late time at midnight (via WIN) and 1am (via Nine). I assume in NSW/QLD that they had the NRL at 7:30pm and hence they missed out a few hours of Games coverage.

Which was normal for WA. WIN being bigger supporters of RL had a habit of running it around 11.30/12.00 where they could instead of the later timeslots STW would give it.

That’s a weak ABC Kids lineup in the afternoon.

At that time the afternoon airing of Sesame Street was reduced to 30 minutes.

I forgot Roseanne once had her town talk show.

I assume NBN choosing a different shorter movie so they can air the delayed ARL game slightly earlier.

Yes, so they can rejoin the Nine feed at 12.40am… 1 hr 55 mins is a good length for a full match replay.
