Channel 10’s Sarah Henderson now Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson?

Yep, journo and newsreader at Ten, later went to ABC. I have a vague recollection that her newsreading partner Alister Paterson also had a stint in politics.

And was at QTQ-9 Brisbane prior to that.

Patterson was Robert Doyle’s chief of staff when he was Melbourne Lord Mayor, I believe

He was MP for South Barwon for a decade then had various positions with local government and interestingly had a stint working as an advisor to Henderson.

He was, a job for the boys situation after he lost his seat under Doyle’s leadership of the Victorian Libs?

And before that she was at HSV 7.

Yes, I think they were burning the episodes off and using it as filler. Looks like it also aired on Sunday nights (i have a recording from the 9th December 2007 prior to the movie Single White Female ).

Western Australia began its daylight saving as part of a 3-year trial
Over on Channel Nine, they showed a Replay of the 2nd Ashes Test between Australia and England at 4:30PM, where they highlight the cricket shots and wickets during Day 4. At 7PM, Channel 9 Perth showed the King of Queens (when Temptation was rested over the summer break). I didn’t realise that Channel 9 had the rights to the NBL. HOwever, Nine showed highlights of the NBL match between Wollongong and SOuth Dragons during overnight.
Over on WIN, they didn’t show the highlights of the 2nd Ashes Test as they went straight to Neighbours and News. WIN had the 5PM News shortened to 30 minutes followed by SPorts TOnight at 5:30pm. After that, WIN News aired at 6PM. At 7PM, WIN broadcasted new Futurama episodes.

Was Sunday Stereo Special always on so late? I had it in my mind that it was a Sunday afternoon program.

I think Sunday Stereo Special wàs always on in the evenings as a simulcast with FM. Sunday Afternoon with Peter Ross was the afternoon arts program that included various performances and features

Thanks, I’m getting it mixed up with Sunday Afternoon.

My parents recorded the Ray Charles episode of Sunday Stereo Special off ABC-FM. I’d love to see the video equivalent one day, it’s a great listen on cassette.

Was Sunday Afternoon simulcast at some point (probably in the 90s) too?

I don’t recall that but it may have happened

I realised that WIN broadcasted the Australian Swimming Championships in Brisbane, however, it was very unusual that Channel 9 Perth opted not to broadcast the swimming championships.
Channel 10 had the Everybody Loves Raymond in its 6pm timeslot.
I noticed a bit of NZ-based documentary shows on Channel 7 including Border Patrol and SCU.

Is that Johnny Carson on Nine? How long did that last?

i think it was just a summer fill-in and Nine had its new satellite link to the US so the Carson show was “fast tracked” to air here (AFAIK) close to the same day.

EDIT: I am just reminded that Nine’s 24/7 satellite link to the US didn’t start until October 1982.

So while I am quite sure this is still the Carson Tonight show airing in 1981 as a summer replacement for The Don Lane Show, it may not have been “fast tracked”.

I noticed that Channel 9 broadcasted a One Day INternational match between Australia and New Zealand at the SCG. However, Perth viewers missed out the 30 minutes of the 1st session telecast due to a Horse Racing - Jungle Dawn Classic from Ascot Racecourse. Nevertheless, WIN broadcasted the match on a 2-hour delay.

I didn’t realise WIN shunted The King Of Queens to late night, as I believe the 7pm summer weeknight timeslot was already occupied.

Something I have always found amusing about these 2000s guides from The West Australain is that they always have promos for shows on Nine which given whom owns The West is amusing.

It was before The West + 7 were the same company.
