Bert Newton on two networks

Nine used to air those old Bert clips pretty often when he was still hosting GMA.

In this case i think it was a deliberate tactic to get him to come back to Nine, so they put this on to tug at his nostalgic heartstrings while GMA was at a weak spot. Seems that it worked. He was at Nine a few months later.

I take it this is around the time KAK started to beat GMA in the ratings then? Yeah, GMA ended at the end of 2005 and Bert was back at Nine at the start of 2006 hosting a revived Family Feud as well as 20 to 1.

SBS showed WOrld News at an earlier time due to the live Ashes series in England. SBS took the UK feed (from Channel 4). I realised that there were a few Channel 9 cricket commentators that have flown to England to cover the Ashes series (Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas, Tony Greig and Michael Slater.
I noticed that Channel 7 broadcasted the AFL Team Selection News (even though Seven didn’t have the AFL from 2002-06 period)

It was pretty common for them to do commentary for overseas broadcasters once the Australian summer ended. Richie had a long association with the BBC in the UK.

Richie and Mark were Channel 4 regulars throughout their run of covering test in England.

Realised that Toasted TV was not on due to the MotoGP race during the morning.
In WIN territory, they showed the V8 SUpercars (which Ten previously telecasted the previous day) during late night due to AFL taking priority the day before.
