Interesting that WIN TV showed Funniest Home Videos on Friday Night.
That day, the Evening News at 6:30pm would air for the final time. That would mean that the 5pm News was extended to 90 minutes and George Negus moves back to 6:30pm. Evening News failed to fire ratings in the 6:30pm timeslot.

They also showed the movie 27 Dresses, Law and Order Criminal Intent and a repeat of WIN News before joining back to Nine Perth at 12:10pm.

I never understood the reasoning why they would have a news bulletin at 5:00 then another one 30-minutes after the previous one ended. I know they thought this massive extended news block was going to be a game changer for them but this always seemed dumb to me.

Many Americans stations do that. I suppose they were trying to bring what worked in the U.S. to Australia, but they ultimately failed in the execution of the details.

I remember that brief period when Ten aired repeats of Pokémon in prime-time.

Gosh… I remember that Saturday Morning line up really well.

So do I. I guess that goes to show how stupidly massive Pokemon was in 1999 and 2000 that they could put episodes on in their primetime schedule.

I noticed that each Victorian regional station had its own telephone numbers to donate to the Good Friday Appeal. How did they manage to do that? When was it that regional Victoria had a common donation number?
