I have noticed that back then there was no VFL (AFL) football televised live in Western Australia on any stations. On that day Carlton v Richmond was the VFL Match of the Day shown live on Seven in NSW, ACT and Queensland, and delayed on Seven’s Big League in Victoria. Did SA and Tasmania get the VFL Match of the Day live?

Ice Hockey would have been from the east coast Seven network, as in the 80s Seven (at least in Melbourne) used to show certain games (mainly playoffs and finals) in the NHL Stanley Cup.

No live football, but otherwise during the week, ABW2 had The Winners (VFL) on Sunday 5.55-6.55pm. And GTW11 Geraldton had a replay of the 1982 VFL Grand Final at 9.20pm Monday, which seems a bit random.

I also have the Victoria “Country” edition of TV Week for that week, so I don’t know about elsewhere in SA but RTS5A and SES8 did not have live VFL that Saturday afternoon.

SES8 had Seven’s Big League (VFL) at 6.00pm, and ABC (SA) had a VFL replay at 6.25-7.00pm.

On that day, GMA with Bert Newton was shortened in Perth due to Stawell Gift telecast. Channel 10 didn’t screen the Jerry Springer Show due to Live AFL between Collingwood-Western Bulldogs.

The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal dominates the day on Seven, while the other channels turn out a much reduced schedule for Good Friday.

The 1975 appeal raised a total of $990,224 – it was to be the last year before hitting the $1m mark.

(I don’t know about other regional stations, but GLV10 relayed the Good Friday Appeal from 2pm to 6.20pm, then again from 9pm to close at midnight)

The FINA World Championships was shown on a delayed telecast in Perth. This saw the AFL Footy Show bump into 9:20pm. Unfortunately, there was no Temptation show on during that night.

Didn’t know Family Guy was a Seven show. Thought all the Fox cartoons ended up on Ten, like The Simpsons and Futurama did.

Futurama was first on Seven in the late 1990s.

Family Guy has been on Seven since it premiered on FTA, as well as American Dad.

And it oddly wouldn’t be on FTA after that for years until TEN began airing in 2005.

That day, Friday Night AFL moved to Channel Seven after 5 years on the Nine Network.
Interestingly, Australian Idol came up on that night.
It was a bit different with Nine and WIN schedules of the ICC Cricket World CUp between Ireland and England which was shown Live. However, the NRL match was delayed until 5:30am in Regional WA.

Also, the series return of The 4400 on Ten in that weird timeslot that managed to survive from the early 90s.

In 2007 the Nine Network created and produced a short-lived daytime talk show called “The Catch-Up” which was like an Australian version of Loose Women (from Britain’s ITV).

and they got rid of Young and the Restless (selling the rights to Foxtel) to make way for it.

From what I recall it never rated well and was gone by the middle of the year as well.

I believe the show was presented by Zoe Sheridan, Libbi Gorr, Lisa Oldfield and Mary Moody
