And the same day in Melbourne

impressive guest cast for Cop Shop, including Steve Bisley, Sigrid Thornton and George Spartels. Joan Letch I think was one to regularly pop up in guest roles in the Crawford cop shows in the 1970s but I remember her mostly from Prisoner.
I never really got into The Greatest American Hero, I probably watched the British comedies on ABC
Just a few years before George Spartels got the gig he is most known for, a presenter on Play School, which he did for about 14-15 years.
He also did a stint in Neighbours during his Play School years.
I remember finding out about that in my teens and being blown away that George from Play School was in Neighbours for a year.

Debut of Nine’s ill-fated soap The Unisexers. Lasted only three weeks!
Created by the same team behind Number 96. Sadly the timeslot restricted them from doing what made Number 96 so popular.
Today’s TV: Sunday 9th February 2014, Perth
Sochi Tonight aired at 3:30pm in Perth (due to time zone difference), while in the Eastern states had the Sochi Tonight at 6pm. A repeat of THe Simpsons would still air at 6pm in Perth, which was a typical evening in Perth.
Didn’t know Ten aired 24 hours a day coverage of Winter Olympics (Sochi) on ONE in 2014.
But not a lot on the Main channel
Back in my home country, The Simpsons premiered on New Zealand screens on the evening of Friday 4 January 1991. It was shown on TVNZ’s Channel 2 (now TVNZ 2) at 9pm.
6pm to 6am was live, and 6am to 6pm was a repeat of events from the 12 hours prior.
I remember watching that debut episode of the Simpsons on that night in 1991. I seem to recall being introduced to Itchy and Scratchy as well and laughing myself stupid for about 10 minutes solid. Lol. 10 year old kids are easily amused.
I wonder why they started with Bart the Genius instead of the Christmas episode.
because it was February?
Interesting ratings analysis in that article. I see comments around that Mary Hartman Mary Hartman was this real cutting edge parody of soaps but from the few episodes I’ve seen it just seemed dreary to me but apparently it ran for hundreds of episodes. Maybe I just happened to see ordinary episodes not worth writing about?
And of course, even then, The Sun had to take a stab at the ABC. It wasn’t even a Murdoch paper then, either.
I was curious when I saw Partridge Family in the year 2020 to see what 2020 looked like. Turns out it was a misprint and the show was actually Partridge Family 2200 AD.
