Start of the end really, WIN was much better as a dual-affiliate chockfull of fairly good scheduling and timeshifting content from Nine and Ten. Not sure how long they were doing the weekend omnibus of new Neighbours before Eleven started up, as I know it did air weeknights.

Davis Cup tennis on three channels! It’s now relegated to a multichannel and garners poor ratings.

Dear @Super_SC, have you got any listings from January 13, 2009?

too bad if you don’t like tennis!
The only alternatives in Melbourne were Channel 0 and if you’re lucky enough to pick up BCV8 or GLV10.

I don’t remember that episode of The Simpsons.

I think it is Season 17 Episode 11 “We’re on the Road to D’ohwhere”.

The problem often with the HD breakaways was they would often air on top of HD content that was already airing on the main SD channel, like Ghost Whisperer and Dirty Sexy Money. Sometimes the HD breakaway content wasn’t even native HD, which sorta made a mockery of it.

No World Series Cricket on any of the regional stations. This used to annoy me as a country-raised kid as the only cricket we got on TV was the ABC’s coverage of the officially-sanctioned tests and one dayers. The only WSC we got was 10 minutes of highlights of the WSC game played in Bendigo on BCV8, as well as in the 2nd season BCV/GLV took the last two hours of play in two one day matches, one was rain delayed IIRC and they put a western movie on in its place. I listened to these games on the radio on 3LO and 3UZ (through the magic of long distance AM radio reception).
