I don’t think they were re-runs because I remember there were complaints at the time that Seven were skipping episodes whenever the Australian Open ran overtime.

I thought that was not until the 2013/14 season?

I remember the 06/07 WACA test is being aired in full and not just the final session as had been the standard for WACA tests.

Good chance being an Ashes series it was a sellout which would lift the blackout into the home market.

Very odd to see Help! on TV

Disapointing not see “Can’t Stop The Music” not on 9 at midnight

it was on in Melbourne that night at midnight

Good, Not sure why we didn’t get it in Perth though.

Ten had the NYE fireworks that year after the City of Sydney awarded a 3 year contract over Nine

This would have been when they were under WIN ownership which may have had something to do with it (WIN-Nine relations were in a pretty bad state at that time).

Also, localised programming variations were possibly still a factor. Nine back then might not have had rights to the movie in Perth so it may have had to slot in an alternative movie.

Interesting things like this were still going on as late as 2007

I don’t know of any specific examples but I wouldn’t rule it out even if just a rare occurrence
