The first Ricki Lake episode aired that day was called “I’m Tired of How You Look, So I’m Making You Over”

Summer Diary was hosted by Naomi Robson from memory, which served as a fill-in summer program before the premiere of Today Tonight

Step by Step was a fun show - I think it also aired on Nine as well

@south_97 @RedDragon Back in my home country, Ricki Lake’s new talk show made its New Zealand debut on TV One (now TVNZ 1) at 3.10pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 11 May 1994.

Wow, so us Aussies got Ricki Lake six months later. Awesome!

Is the 6am news on 10 in 1992 with Craig Campbell presented by the same CC of The Project?

No, different Craigs.

How long did it air on Ten? I only remember it airing on Seven. Must have been a decent rater as it was still airing in various weekday timeslots well into the 2000s

Wikipedia says it was on Ten from late 1994 to 1997.

It was on from November 1994 to around the first or second week of January 1997. It moved to Seven a month later

the debut of The Aunty Jack Show in Melbourne.

And whatever happened to those election broadcasts, we don’t get them anymore.

I suppose they’ve become less important as there are a lot more ways of communicating to voters (and the number of voters watching FTA has dropped)

The ABC is still required to broadcast them, I guess with so many options for viewing these days they’re not as prominent.

Ten has treated the Larry Sanders Show and other sitcoms very badly during the mid 90s. When it first aired in February 1995, it (and “Dream On”) was pulled from the schedule four weeks later to be replaced at the last minute by a documentary on the movie “Outbreak”. One of these episodes Ten cut a scene where the Red Hot Chilli Peppers performed. Larry Sanders and Dream On returned later in the year in a late Saturday night “timeslot of death”. Ten gave up on Larry Sanders at the end of 1996 and the remaining episodes aired on Foxtel/Galaxy’s thecomedychannel. Ten’s treatment was often the subject of many letters to the Age Green Guide.
