There were so many restrictions on what these multichannels or breakout channels could broadcast at this time.

I thought that by 2008, the ABC/SBS could do pretty much whatever they wanted while the commercial networks were allowed 1 HD channel and 2 (including simulcast of the main analogue service) SD channels?

Some of the initial genre restrictions had been lifted by 2008 but the commercial HD break-out channels I agree were very limited in what they actually put out. Although I think Ten put a bit more effort in rather than Seven which seemed to rush 7HD to air just to be “first”

I thought cutting the ABC2 guide out after 8.30pm was a bit harsh though

Thursday (as shown) was 10 HD’s break out sci-fi night with Smallville as listed at 7.30pm. Other shows included the new Battlestar Galactica.

Sucks to not have TCM here anymore.

All regional editions of TV Week used to list the capital city stations as well as the regionals in the markets covered. I have a full set of issues for the same week from, I think, March 1996. From memory they are:

Melbourne
Country VIC
Sydney
Country NSW (including the ACT)
Brisbane
Regional and Remote QLD
Adelaide
NT and Regional SA (including Darwin)
Perth and WA
Tasmania

I will need to check - maybe SA and NT had separate editions.

NTD8 Darwin were in the NT edition.

The PRG covered half of the screen on Ten HD

The final day for ATV Channel 0. From tomorrow it begins as ATV10.

Mind you, Channel 9’s 11.00pm movie could be apt for 2021 :stuck_out_tongue:

Why was STW9 showing Olympic Games highlights in January 1977? I think it may refer to Montreal 1976?

The second day of transmission for GTW11, Geraldton. I do have the WA edition TV Times for the previous week but for whatever reason it missed publishing GTW’s first day.

This was the brief spiel about the channel’s launch in the 22 January edition:

Any chance this TV Week lists what episodes of The Simpsons were on for that week on TEN for Sunday, January 13th at 6:00pm and Tuesday, January 15th at 7:30pm and 8:00pm? If you can, could you please let me know what episodes are listed? Would really appreciate this. Thanks.
