Should be on Binge? I know on HBO Max, they have 30+ seasons of Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes

TV Guide Melbourne, Thursday 27 August 1970. 50 years ago today.

The power unions have gone on strike. A semi-regular occurrence in Victoria back then with everyday life affected by severe power restrictions. Television Stations are affected too with televisions only able to be used between 1pm to 5pm and 7pm to 11pm with stations altering schedules accordingly.

We had a few days like that in the 80s as well.

The last one I recall was probably about 1985 or 86? TV was going to be cut to just 6-8pm on the day but they managed at the last minute to get it extended to 4-11pm.

There was one in 1989 that I found out about recently. The restrictions were not as strict in terms of TV usage except that only one TV per household could be used at any one time and TV transmission continued as per normal.

NSW and Qld also suffered similar strikes in the 1970’s and 1980’s resulting in power shortages but TV usage in both states was not restricted at all.

Excellent upload, thanks!

Interesting that Sunday Sunrise and Face to Face went from one show to seperate and back to one show over a number of years, and I never remember News Week on Ten.

Did only a handful of players from both teams survive the merge?

What series was this? It would be different to the more well-known Arthur educational program beginning in 1996 with a talking aardvark and glasses…

I take a guess that this would be a children’s program given the time of day and week on the ABC.

I think it’s Arthur and the Square Knights of the Round Table.

This link would help answer your question.

sorry, let me word that better…
in the TV Guide of the newspapers, would GO! have been in those listing from 2010 onwards? (I’m well aware of the channel being around from 2009, don’t judge me.)
