Sydney, Sunday 6 October 1963. The first year of the Armstrong 500 motor race at Mount Panorama, Bathurst, after the first three races had been held at Phillip Island. Seven had a sporadic live coverage.
For the record, the official time of the race that year was 7 hours, 47 minutes and 14 seconds. I was unable to find out what time the race started - if it had started at 8:30am, the winners (Bob Jane and Harry Firth) would have crossed the finish line at about 4:17pm.
If the race had started any later than 9:15am, ATN would have had to make some late schedule adjustments.
Today’s TV: 14.10.1979, Adelaide. The mini-series Roots: The Next Generations debuts on SAS10. Roughly five months after its broadcast in Sydney and Melbourne.
14.10.1983, Canberra. SBS television Channel 0/28 makes its first expansion outside of Sydney and Melbourne with its launch in Canberra, Goulburn and Cooma. It becomes known as Network 0/28 although in its new markets it broadcasts only on UHF.

That would be the Gillette Cup (Gillette began sponsoring the one-day domestic tournament in the 1973/74 season).
That’s the first time I read Seven broadcasting men’s domestic cricket, before Nine took up the rights a few years later.
The first day of test colour program transmission. At first limited to sport and only for a couple of hours a day. Was later expanded to allow selected movies, specials and specific episodes of regular programs
73/74, perhaps later and previous seasons as well, 0-10 even has a summer of international and domestic matches before the WSC split utilising much of the future Nine commentary team. HSV even did District First XI at one stage, Bill Larry began his broadcast career with them.
Edit, actually seem to recall 0-10 a bit later possibly 79-80 doing the one day cup.
