@Michael_S Scottish TV (now STV). In fact, “Curly and Coconut” was a British cartoon featuring the adventures of two little boys, Curly and Coconut (as the title suggested).

That’s lucky. I can just ask them. They may have episodes too.

@OnAir @TelevisionAU @Leotv “Undercover” - a 1990 made-for-television film about a young policeman named Tony (played by William Brandt), originally from Hawke’s Bay, who was persuaded to work undercover in Wellington - was broadcast on Channel 2 (now TVNZ 2) at 8.30pm on the evening of Wednesday 13 November 1991, right after “Beverly Hills 90210”.

Directed by Yvonne Mackay (“The Silent One”) and inspired by real-life undercover policeman Wayne Haussman, who was convicted of drug trafficking, “Undercover” was filmed on location in Wellington and produced by the Gibson Group as a pilot for a series that never eventuated.

The film was named Best Drama Programme at the 1993 New Zealand Film and Television Awards. Jennifer Ludlam was awarded for her role as Tony’s ex-prostitute girlfriend, Sandy.

Cliff Curtis - who went on to play the role of Bully in the 1994 film “Once Were Warriors” - was part of the cast, as did Hori Ahipene (better known a few years later as Mrs Semisi from “Skitz” and its spinoff, “The Semisis”).

You can watch the full-length film via NZ On Screen by clicking its link above.

Had no idea this aired in NZ.

@OnAir For the last few months of 1993 “Ray Martin at Midday” (formerly “The Midday Show with Ray Martin” and, later, “Midday with Ray Martin”) was broadcast in New Zealand on TV One.

On Australia’s east coast (i.e. New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, Tasmania and parts of Queensland), the programme was live to air on the Nine Network. But here in New Zealand (I think), “The Midday Show” was pre-recorded and the shows were flown across the Tasman for broadcast on TVNZ the next week - after Channel Nine had played them.

Within the next year, Ray Martin moved to Nine’s “A Current Affair” and was replaced as host of “The Midday Show” by ex-pat New Zealander Derryn Hinch.

I had no idea Ray Martin’s Midday Show made it to New Zealand. Back in the 1980’s, every regional station in Australia showed Midday with Ray Martin and I mean every regional station.
