In a way, that week was probably the beginning of the end of the “Still The One” era for Nine.
A number of Nine’s key programs finished in 2004, those which continued in 2005 would see eroding ratings while many of the new shows launched that year (Starstruck, Our Place, the various “celebrity” reality shows) didn’t quite hit the mark. Meanwhile Seven was gaining momentum in 2005 with Lost, Desperate Housewives, Dancing With The Stars, Border Security and a news/current affairs lineup which was outrating Nine’s in Sydney for the first time in many years.
