Carols in the Domain

After reading all the negative comments before it was shown in Perth
I actually enjoy it and having our 12week grand daughter with us kinda made A little bit special

It’s still trending as No 2 on my Twitter, along with Mark Vincent, The Wiggles, Leo Sayer and others…

Well done to everyone involved in getting this show up and running in this current climate. Especially to the people of Sydney and the Northern Beaches.

Did anyone else think that Larry and Kylie were standing too close to each other?

I think that on Friday when this was recorded the tally was up to around 30 cases give or take, so you think the responsible thing to do is at least have 1.5 or 2 metres distance between each other.

One of the best things about Christmas is snarky tweeting along to the carols…and, I for one, wouldn’t have it any other way :grinning:

Confirmed today that Kochie and Nat will host Carols in the Domain this year.

I wonder if Kochie will wear another completely dreadful “Christmas-themed” suit this year? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Aside from that, it’s rather interesting to note that the event itself will take place on Saturday December 18, but not broadcast until Thursday December 23 - presumably a ratings induced change?

It’s because December 18 is the third day of the second Ashes test from Adelaide, which is also a day/night match.

I also read that Bella Taylor Smith, who won The Voice this year, will make her debut at the event.

Ahh, interesting to hear.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this practice of holding Carols in the Domain on Saturday but telecasting the concert (or highlights of it) on Seven a few days later becomes a new Christmas tradition though, as the Saturday night ratings have been pretty average outside of Sydney in recent years.

I’m sure everyone saw that one coming!

The Wiggles with new Wiggle Teshay will debut in her first Carols that evening.

It’s a real shame for a Sydney-sider though. Maybe they can be shown in Sydney on 7TWO and then main channel on Thursday.

Just call us Sydneysiders.

American country music superstar Carrie Underwood will be special guest at this year’s Carols in the Domain, via video link from Nashville. She claimed two categories at the recent American Music Awards: Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Inspirational Artist.

It’s rare to have international performers appearing in such an event, the last one I can think of was Brian McFadden in 2008 when he appeared alongside his then girlfriend Delta Goodrem.

She is joining from Nashville, TN via video link and won’t be present at the Domain itself

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas

Have been reading comments on social media last night and this morning. Many complained that the event was not shown live, some even suggested that it could have aired on 7TWO or 7mate while the cricket was on. I even saw a message which said that many spectators left the event early.
