Still, someone has to be willing to change their plans at the last minute
I honestly think it went perfectly fine⊠Although sometimes it was awkward and random, other than that it went pretty smoothly.
Also did anyone hear âFree Palestineâ at the end of the couples performance of Little Drummer Boy?
Michael Paynter has such an amazing voice. Check him out singing Man of Colours by Icehouse. Such a brilliant and moving performance.
I hope not. There is a time and place but this is definitely not the right place.
Bit like the Bethlehem Carols, which keeps being rudely interrupted by a genocide two years running.
My view last night
Big production when you see it done in person! Stage managers and tv executives running around telling performers when to go on and off, setting up mics etc
Some of the acts were a bit average though
I love the backdrop on Christmas Eve. Lovely stage with some wonderful shots of Melbourne and the crowd! (Was taking a sneak peek on the monitorđ)
It does seem out of place in a 2024 wide audience event. Keep the Jesus stuff for church.

Youâve got to be joking. I canât believe people think Christmas should be secular and not religious.
Next youâll be forcing Jewish and Muslim people to follow Christmas traditions.
You know where Christmas comes from, right? Birth of Jesus.
Forgive me if this has been asked before. But what is the story with why the lights are on at the MCG during Carols? Id it anything to do with the event or just the groundstaff doing prep for the Test

Welcome to the 21st century. Non Christians celebrate Christmas too.
Nobody is preventing non-Christians from celebrating a Christian holy day. But itâs a joke if youâre trying to say the religious significance should be taken out of the day.
Sarah Abo pulls out of Carols By Candlelight 2024 after undergoing surgery
Host David Campbell confirmed that it was the âfirst time everâ that he was hosting solo and revealed the reason behind Aboâs absence.
âIf you havenât heard, my beautiful co-host has been struck down by appendicitis,â he said.
Campbell confirmed that Abo had undergone surgery to remove her appendix and was under a doctorâs orders to âtake it easy.â
âHello from hospital! Which is not where I thought Iâd be tonight⊠but my appendix had other ideas!â she wrote.
âAnd unfortunately surgery has kept me from being at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl sharing this magical evening with you all, alongside my friend, the magnificent David Campbell. Doctorâs orders!

I think itâs just for show for the Carols telecast

STARS ALIGN ON CHRISTMAS EVE FOR VISION AUSTRALIAâS CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT PRESENTED BY AAMI
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24, LIVE AT 8.00PM
ON CHANNEL 9 & 9NOW

The 9Network has announced the first part of its star-studded lineup for the nationâs favourite Christmas Eve tradition, Vision Australiaâs Carols by Candlelight presented by AAMI.
Broadcasting live from the home of the Carols, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Wednesday, December 24, at 8.00pm, hosts David Campbell and Sarah Abo will return to guide Australia through another unforgettable night of festive cheer.
This year the stage will light up with a spectacular array of talent, featuring international stars, Aussie greats, and the hottest acts in musical theatre.
Americaâs global country sensation, Lainey Wilson, will bring Nashville sparkle to Christmas Eve, fresh from a history-making night at the 2025 CMA Awards, where she swept the field to be crowned Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Lainey also won the Album of the Year Award for her chart-topping record, Whirlwind.
In an exclusive scoop for Australian audiences ahead of her Whirlwind World Tour Down Under next February, she will join host David Campbell for a special performance that promises to be a show-stopping highlight of the night.
In another Carols exclusive, Australian country music star Morgan Evans returns to perform his new Christmas single that honors the Paul Kelly classic.
Also making his Carols debut is award-winning Broadway and TV star Andy Karl, performing with his fiancée Elise McCann, the Australian actor and musical theatre star.
The Carols lineup also includes:
- ARIA Award-winning artist Dami Im
- The cast of the smash-hit MJ The Musical
- Powerhouse vocalist Casey Donovan
- Critically acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Michael Paytner
- Childrenâs favourite Emma Memma
Plus, this year brings dynamic collaborations and audience favourites, including some electric pairings. In a Carols first, much-loved Tim Campbell joins forces with vocal diva Paulini, while the self-proclaimed âKings of Christmas,â Rob Mills and Bobby Fox return to the stage.
Of course it wouldnât be Christmas Eve without the legends who have become the heart and soul of Carols by Candlelight. Viewers will welcome back our beloved Carols family; Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino, David Hobson and Denis Walter.
David Campbell said: âVision Australiaâs Carols by Candlelight is something very special that I look forward to every year. Itâs a chance to spread the joy and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most by raising money for Vision Australia.â
Sarah Abo added: âItâs always such a wonderful night, and I canât wait to get back to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl to host alongside David and celebrate Christmas Eve with everyone there and our viewers all around Australia.â
Carols by Candlelight is Vision Australiaâs biggest annual fundraiser for childrenâs services, with 100 per cent of profits from ticket sales and donations going directly towards supporting close to 2,000 families with children who are blind or have low vision. Tickets to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl are on sale now and can be purchased via www.carolsbycandlelight.com.au.
Two similar shots with similar outfits. The tree is in exactly the same spot with the same decorations. The same presents are underneath, just rearranged.
Ok?

I donât think it was one of those challenges to spot the differences between 2 pictures?
