I don’t think it was the worst. I think the production was great, some performances weren’t great, but you get that every year.
Anthony’s bloody cape outfit was ridiculous. Honestly , the ego on that guy.
I know Tim, Rob and Bonnie have copped a bit of flack, but I thought they were quite good. Much better than when Hi-5 did the same dance routine to the same song year after year. I still can’t hear the song ‘Santa Claus is coming’ without seeing this damn routine in my head!
They were fantastic IMO for what the bit was about (engaging the kiddies). I had a few laughs and the crowd at the Bowl seemed to engage with the humour and energy behind it.
Nope the ego was there before the cape.
I have nothing against someone wearing a flamboyant cape/outfit. He has an ego and it was done for “headlines” clearly.
Do we think having the likes of the Hamilton, Moulin Rouge and Frozen musical casts ruins the event? Do we prefer the usual selections of solo artists and groups?
I’m not a big fan of having musical acts from the likes of Hamilton, Moulin Rouge and Frozen this year (and other years too). Does ruin it a little. I know the Carols need to make money. But there are other wars around it - like having solo artists and/or groups promoting their Christmas Albums or promotion of their concerts for the new year etc (or on an odd occasion they have a song in an upcoming film etc). Sell that space for cross promotion rather than random musical casts.
