Capital Radio Network

Decided to tune into GNFM this morning and noticed that they are taking 4BC’s news bulletin and not the 2GB bulletin. Strange

Surely must have been an error?

Looking at their Facebook pages, GNFM & XLFM are now airing highlights of 2CA’s Holmsey & Jen at 6-9am Saturdays. Also, 2CA, GNFM & XLFM are now airing highlights of 6iX’s Rob & Nat at 6-9pm Sundays.

Both highlight programs have started airing on those stations at the beginning of this month (October).

Also on 3GG. I tried and found it a tough listen - so out of kilter with the rest of the station.

Time for the Capital Radio Network to Merge with What’s Left of Grant Broadcasters i say?

No, it would be better for The Capital Radio Network to buy what’s left of Grant Broadcasters.

No way, that would completely destroy Snow / Eagle fm.

Snow and Eagle fm would end up on the same playlist as Wave / Power fm , no thanks!!!

Also Kevin uses Snow fm to advertise all his other businesses.

I agree, I would imagine Grant will want out completely in the future. Krock and Bay fm would have been offloaded to ARN if it was not for the overlap rule. Two potential buyers Capital Radio and BOG / SRN.

Bay / Krock going to Capital Radio would be excellent for Geelong / Melbourne radio.
You would have Forever Classic Bay fm, and Krock with a decent CHR format.

Snow / Eagle fm have dropped KTJ for Will & Woody from today.

Is Nova no longer syndicating the show, or has Capital Radio teamed up with TRSN like the SRN?

If that is the case F&W may soon be replaced with KJO Hour of power.

I heard Tim say they aren’t anywhere except the cap cities anymore

Fitzy & Wippa have also been dropped from the line up of Snow / Eagle fm.

It is local programming from 6am to 5pm and then Will & Woody from 5pm to 7pm.

I am assuming the Pulse, their nightly countdown will still air from 7pm.

Fitzy & Wippa won’t win best syndicated show next year as all the regional stations are dropping Nova programs like hot cakes for ARN syndicated shows instead.

It is either a join up with TRSN or the continuing downward spiral of Nova?

TRSN has been acquired by ARN as part of their deal to acquire Grant Broadcasters, so it makes sense that ARN programs are now being syndicated to other stations not owned by either ARN or SCA.

The link could be through Grants Joint Venture in Eagle fm which caused the switch from Nova programming to ARN.
Snow and Eagle share programming so it is no point having Nova programming on Snow and ARN on Eagle.

As I said before, Nova have really lost out in this deal.

I agree, I stopped listening to Nova Drive after Marty left. The show has gone downhill since.

I presume Nova pulled the show from syndication as Snow and Eagle were the only two stations left - ARN Regional (ex-Grants) dropped the show for in-house shows in 2022, with Ace and Caralis following suit this year.

Don’t be surprised if they do - believe Nova still “syndicates” the show to Star 104.5 on weekends.

If that is the case it would be a real joke, Star 104.5 is as much owned by Nova entertainment as Nova 969.

Which isn’t really a syndication at all then.

Describing it as his dream job, Trent will be based in his home studio full time while looking after Capital stations in Gippsland, Perth, Canberra, Goulburn and the Snowy Mountains.
