After five incredible years, Bump’s beloved cast including Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr., Claudia Karvan, Angus Sampson, Christian Byers and Ava Cannon will say farewell.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today announced the production of season five of the Stan Original Series Bump. Currently filming in Sydney, the brand new season will be the final chapter of the smash-hit show, which has become an Australian household staple.

In season five, a peek into the future hints where our favourite characters will go. Jumping through past and present, the Chalmers-Davis family are tackling the never-ending hurdles life seems to throw their way as they face Angie’s (Claudia Karvan) diagnosis, while also trying to celebrate the joy of Oly’s (Nathalie Morris) second pregnancy.

The Stan Original Series Bump is produced by acclaimed Australian production company Roadshow Rough Diamond and its founders Dan Edwards (Stan Original Series Romper Stomper) and John Edwards (Love My Way) along with Claudia Karvan (Love My Way) and Kelsey Munro (Stan Original Series Bump S1-S4, Stan Original Series Scrublands, Stan Original SeriesYear Of).

The series is co-created by Kelsey Munro and Claudia Karvan, with the returning Stan Original Series Bump writing team consisting of Nick Coyle (Wellmania), Timothy Lee (Mystery Road), and Shanti Gudgeon (Stan Original Series Wolf Creek). Nathalie Morris will also make her Bump writing debut for season five. Surprised it made it to 5 seasons tbh, I sort of lost interest after the second.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today released the trailer for season five of the Stan Original Series Bump. A Christmas tradition for Australian households, the final season of the smash-hit show will premiere on Boxing Day, only on Stan.

In Bump season five we find the Chalmers-Davis family facing the realities of Angie’s diagnosis; a hard blow that coincides with what should be the joy of Oly’s second pregnancy. Angie faces arduous cancer treatment with Edith by her side; while Oly’s fresh unemployment threatens to stretch out to something more troubling if she can’t get her mojo back. Santi is trying to step into the breach, but Jacinda’s acting out, feeling the adults are leaving her out of things.

Dom and Tim finally make their record shop dream a reality, but baggage from Tim’s past threatens to derail their happily ever after. Vince is trying to make his new relationship with Van work, even as she challenges his boundaries; and he’s trying to forget Reema, who is entangled with Rakim. With Hector’s support, Rosa’s business is going from strength to strength, while Rosa’s home life is challenged by her teenage sons and their messy love lives. Bowie’s long search leads him to find his true calling while Bernardita prepares for the arrival of her long-awaited new great-grandchild. Bittersweet, funny, sad and life-affirming, Bump’s final season has all the feels.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, tonight celebrated the final season of the Stan Original Series Bump, with a special event screening in Sydney ahead of the premiere on Boxing Day, only on Stan.

Lead cast Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr., Claudia Karvan and Angus Sampson, attended the exclusive double episode screening at Mov’in Bed in Barangaroo alongside co-stars Ava Cannon, Christian Byers, Dylan Alcott, Paula Garcia, Steph Tisdell, Safia Arain, Ioane Sa’ula, Claudia Di Giusti and Ryan Johnson as well as co-creator Kelsey Munro, and producers John Edwards and Dan Edwards.

Dylan Alcott hosted the evening with a cast Q&A in front of hundreds of Bump fans, discussing the Hernández/Chalmers-Davis family tree before opening questions to the audience and introducing the first two episodes.

In the live Q&A, co-creator, producer and star, Claudia Karvan said on why Bump is so special: “It is Kelsey Munro and the writing team, Tim and Nick and Shanti and all the writers we’ve had over the five seasons. Beautiful writing and a sense of place and authenticity and a connection between the amazing cast - I feel like a very proud TV mum.”

Angus Sampson added: “I’m humbled to be a small part of this family, and the fact that we’re doing it for five seasons, five years, is due to our beautiful audience, due to our beautiful partners at Stan, due to our incredible crew who turn up every day.”
