This vision is at the site of the 4BC/4KQ AM transmitter in Wynnum Road.
While on a short weekend vacation in Adelaide (was in town for the Supercars), I went past the studios of Channels Seven and Nine, and also saw the building of Nova 91.9.
You can see the Adelaide Foothills transmit antennas in the background of the Nova pic. The antennas are on a building.
So when the studio isn’t in use they put a promotional background on the set. Cool. Do they close the curtain during broadcasts?
I believe so, though when I walked past it was before 8:00am in the morning.
I also went past it on my previous visit to Adelaide in December 2021, and the curtains were indeed closed which suggests that they do so when the 6:00pm news is on so as to not let the light get into the studio and/or the presenters get distracted (if that makes sense).

Looks like a decent chunk of ABC Ultimo has been leased.
ABC moving parts to Parramatta is still a dumb fuck move.
“Connecting with Western Sydney audiences” is a absolute wank. They’ve blown tax payers money and they know it.
Mt Wilson TV and radio transmissions threatened.
Similar situation could impact Australian facilities in the case of bushfires.
The Eaton Fire, which ravaged Altadena, is encroaching on Mt. Wilson, whose peak houses a number of broadcast towers. The L.A.-based NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox and PBS stations all have transmitters atop the mountain, as does KTLA and Univision’s KMEX.
In addition, a slew of FM radio stations transmit from the top of Mt. Wilson, including stalwarts like KCBS 93.1 and KIIS 102.7.
relatively few consumers get their TV signal from a broadcast antenna, with most accessing the networks via cable, satellite or streaming options, which would not be impacted.
It has happened before. Mt Wandera was damaged in the Black Summer fires a few years back.
Think Mt Lofty way back in the early 80s copped some damage too.
Anyone have news on HSV7 move?
From memory it was happening soon.
Hasn’t been named that since they left South Melbourne.
April I believe.
And the ABC facility at Mount Tassie, serving Gippsland VIC was wiped out about a decade ago.
Well this is media spy and a lot still refer to as HSV7.
Most people in LA will get by without broadcast TV because most have it delivered by cable. However, it has a big driving culture where broadcast radio is relied on; though there are plenty of other stations to choose from.
Though i wonder if any cable providers just retransmit the off air feed? So might be impacted too?
