ITV’s new I’m A Celebrity show ‘The Wild Frontier’ is going ahead in Canada.
ITV has recommissioned Millionaire Hot Seat, ordering 20 new episodes of the fast-paced spin-off alongside a further 15 episodes of flagship quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Funnily enough, the Guardian article has the ITV head’s response, while ITV News quotes Sky chair instead:

I hope ITV Studios can thrive by itself, we don’t need Banijay sniffing around them
I am not sure why ITV needs to be split into two. What’s wrong with being vertically integrated like BBC?
BBC is protected by the license fee, even if the vultures are circling.
ITV is not, it’s been in trouble for years. They’ll take anything, and someone thought splitting it in two - one being the broadcasting arm, the other being the Studios arm, was a good way of solving it. It probably opens ITV Studios up to be brought out though, as they don’t have the issue of that pesky PSB arm to deal with and is a straight forward process.
Although, will ITV Studios have to rename itself? I think Granada might be out of the running as a name, unless Granada in the north west becomes ITV North West and releases Granada to the company. Carlton might be another option?
Banijay can bugger off though.
Sky wouldn’t get a sale across the line without splitting the company. Otherwise they’d have kept it.
From what I’ve read, people were complaining about how much of the TV advertising market (whatever’s left of it) Sky would’ve dominated with this deal, with or without Studios.
Damned if they did, damned if they didn’t.
The combined entity will help Sky leap ahead massively of BBC, YouTube, Netflix and TikTok for screen time in the UK. They’ll dominate.
That’s why this is happening
Will it translate into extra do-re-mi? Greater amounts of government green? Sky had better hope so.
