They probably wanted to update the kangaroo logo but knew it would cause outrage.
Better to create a fake outrageous logo and then later on reveal the updated kangaroo logo .

This one was still up in Farrer ACT last time I checked. It’s not operational anymore though - a mechanic operates from the old servo building.

I passed the Caltex service station in Richmond (NSW) on Friday morning, specifically this one: https://goo.gl/maps/26KpvoTrAALbNgwa7
The service station is currently fenced off, but pumps are still in place. It’s also in a relatively popular location, so I don’t think it would have closed down. My speculation is that this will be one of the first service stations to be rebranded as an Ampol, which will probably take a few months? If I’m down that way again in the second half of the year I’ll have to see if my hunch played out.

Not sure about Bubble O’Bill, but Rainbow Paddle Pop tubs were briefly a thing about two decades ago - wonder if that will last a bit longer this time?

Unfortunately that’s the type of copy they expect younger millennials and zoomers to most identify with. It’s fine on some of their articles, but exhausting / way too forced on others.
