Got the passion/pine one to try. Decent flavour but has that strong sparkling water aftertaste.
Are they clear or coloured like cordial?
Very slight colour to it. Colour 102 (yellow) is on the ingredients list.
What ever happened to Leed Lemonade?
Replaced by the global brand of Sprite.
I noticed today an ad on the back of a bus for an Esky. One thing I had never taken notice of before is that the Esky logo has an Eskimo on it. Following what weâve seen about Eskimo Pies changing their name, I wonder how long before they remove that image from Eskys?
SKi was a bit bogan and it was also halal certified which got it some attention
What about changing freckles too? I mean those with freckles would be offended too right?
I highly doubt this is what got it off supermarket shelves.
Only One Nation-type far right conspiracy wingnuts take note of halal certification because they believe it funds Sharia law and see it as a religious tax on consumers (yet no one bats an eyelid on Kosher certifications), with programs like A Current Affair and Today Tonight giving airtime to idiots who go out telling people to boycott any product with the halal label on it.
My opinion of Dick Smith went down a few notches when he engaged in racist dogwhistling by actually promoting his products as NOT halal certified.
I think Ski went off the shelves because it was watery dross compared to the full-fat alternatives. Ski was basically sweetened, slightly thickened milk.
Could that have been a contributor to the downfall of Dick Smith Foods?
As for Ski yoghurt, Iâm not really familiar with the stories which lead to the downfall of that brand/product but suspect it happened because people prefer proper yoghurt over the runny âdual topâ stuff you mightâve had as a kid. Just as the case is with cheese, our taste in yoghurt has probably improved considerably over the past 20-30 years!
I think we all started realising that sugar is the main culprit behind obesity and weight gain, not just fat, so weâre happier to indulge in fat now and the thicker alternatives are much more in vogue. Chobaniâs popularity is off the charts.
Ski was essentially drinking yoghurt in a tub, with sugar to replace the fat. Yick.
Coles released their Air Fryer Oven today in their stores. I went to my local store and asked one of their employees if they had any stock left. They replied back with that they were all sold out by 7:30am. The store only opens at 7am!
Even Kmart online have sold out of their stock. I recently tried to purchase one online but a few days later I received an email saying that Iâll get a refund as they didnât have any left in stock. It didnât say âback online soonâ when I purchased it.
I canât believe how all of a sudden Air Fryers have become so popular. I donât know if itâs because people are eating at home more during this pandemic or what.
My parents have three. Two at home (pull out basket and oven) and one at their holiday house (pull out basket). I sometimes borrow one of theirs and theyâre great to use, easy to clean and healthier too.
This was the instant coffee that Mum used to buy. It made a cup of coffee that looked , smelt and tasted like brown muddy water.
It was later supplanted by the more exotically named International Roast.
I remember this packing better.
The main deal is that theyâre easy to clean, heat up VERY quickly (no need for a pre-heat), have huge air flow through their fans (much more powerful than any standard convection oven) and produce good uniform results, whereas your regular tabletop oven might have certain hot spots. I donât think itâs a pandemic related thing, theyâve been popular for the last year or so.
I bought one last year from Kmart and it was a great little thing.
Unfortunately I lent it to someone I had a falling out with, but it was good while I had itâŚ
I have one from Kmart, and it works a treat!
Iâve been going to my local Kmart for the past 2 weeks to buy one, but the shelves have been empty. The assistant said to me yesterday that they wonât be in stock until at least the end of July.
I remember my parents saving an empty jar of Pablo and reusing it as our self raising flour airtight container for years. As I recall the lid was a bit bigger and yellow, but the font was the same.
Bingo!
