I don’t think we’ve ever had the Cherry flavour in Australia. It’s popular in America.

Notes price increase

Wasn’t Peters ice cream once associated with Nestle?

Yes, Peters was once owned by Nestle. After a brief return to Aussie ownership after Nestle sold the brand in 2012, it is now held by UK-based Froneri, a joint venture of Nestle and PAI Partners.

From Wikipedia so not sure how accurate this is.

Nestle bought Peter’s Ice Creams in the mid-1990s. It was sold to Australian company Pacific Equity Partners in 2012. Then in 2014, a European company R&R Ice Cream bought it.

In 2018, the transaction to create Froneri, a joint venture between the owner of R&R Ice Cream, PAI Partners and Nestlé was completed.

So Nestle, as part of Froneri, still has a stake in it. They make Cadbury ice creams in Australia, under licence.

These new Cadbury Choc Tops (and the Oreo ones) are made in Serbia though. I’ll pass thanks.

Almost all of our ice creams are Australian-made in our factory in Mulgrave, Victoria, and still honouring Fred Peters’ forward-thinking spirit that created the foundation for our continuous culture of innovation. We have always been ready to embrace – and invent – new ways of delivering ice cream to Australians using the latest technology, imagination, and a bit of know-how magic.

“Almost all”. Not sure ‘new ways of delivering ice cream to Australians’ needs to involve importing licensed product from the other side of the world though, but anyway…

Travelling in Europe and this is the first time I’ve seen the tetgered bottle caps on water and soft drinks. They are designed to keep the bottle tops on the bottle so they don’t get thrown away and pollute the environment.

Apparently they’ve been around since at least 2022 and now all plastic bottles have them. Why are we behind with this innovation?

Australia won’t even bring in emissions laws. It’s very behind with environmental laws.
