I didn’t think it was terrible, but definitely not good enough for $4, when it tastes like chocolate from a discount store sold for <$1.

Obviously it’s that thing of not caring about the tastes of overseas markets and just relying on his name. US chocolate is just disgusting in general, so if you’ve made something to compete in that market, you’ll likely be similar in flavour.

Given we’re seeing Prime discounted and seemingly fading from stores here, these products are clearly flash in the pan to get on the bandwagon of social media attention.

Just when I thought Mr. Beast couldn’t get any more annoying.

What is Mr Beast tho?

A very famous YouTuber, known for being very-wealthy. Also well known for giving large sums of money to charities and organisations. Here is his YT:

Also has a burger chain in the US, and is planning to open stores here in Australia. Expect his brand to become prevalent in coming years.

OIC. Never heard of it.

Google is your friend.

They don’t have any stores at all…

You love trotting that comment out. Give it a rest eh?

What supermarket is that?

Well you can look things up just as easily as asking someone else to look it up and provide you a link., eh?

I didn’t ask for any of that. I made a comment about never having heard of the brand or the post. Yes I could have googled it, but I don’t care that much. However happy to hear if anyone is interested as part of the conversation. Which is what was happening.

Not so sure ‘just google it’ helps to the actual conversation taking place, but here we are.

Apologies, I should have provided more context with the photographs. This is at Giant, a supermarket chain in Maryland in the United States.

It’s taken six months between the initial announcement and new packaging to be rolled out here in the US, so I wonder how much longer it’s going to take to see it on the Australian side.

Those flavours with cola sound yuck.

I think they should stick to fruit flavours and leave it at that.

I did wonder if this was actually real. Cant imagine them being too nice to drink.

I completely agree that US chocolate is foul. Living here as a chocoholic sucks because I can’t buy anything good here. I get all my chocolate shipped over from a wholesaler in Brisbane  which is bullshit expensive but at least it’s good stuff.

That isn’t as easy as it sounds either because it requires carefully planning the timing right where it won’t be hot on either side, and hoping that customs don’t hold it for too long, or I’ll end up with an expensive box of melted mess. So far so good though.

As far as Feastables (Mr. Beast’s chocolate) goes, the whole limited organic/natural ingredient thing just doesn’t work as far as I am concerned. I would take Hershey’s vomit filled chocolate over Feastables any day, and that’s saying something because I absolutely HATE Hersheys

People obviously like both since they’re still around. I’ll pass though.

I remember seeing some Cadbury products sold in America in selected shops. Maybe only in the big cities? It was from Britain but mostly the same as Australian Cadbury.

It is possible to find some British Cadbury in the US if you look in the right areas.

That was tricky for a while after Hershey sued a major importer of British Cadbury a while back. For those who don’t know, Hershey has the US license for Cadbury and they thought suing the importers of British Cadbury would be a way of getting people to buy their vomit infused version instead. Nope. That was a big deal at the time, and that is when I started importing my own from Australia.

These days it is easier to find the stuff that Hershey doesn’t make, like Flake and Twirl as an example (they are two of my favourites), but a lot just isn’t sold here so importing it is the only way to get it.

I tried the Hershey made “Cadbury Dairy Milk” last time I was in the US - just chalk like texture and nothing at all like any other Cadbury product.

I usually do understand customising a product to the market - but why would you be seeking out the ‘UK’ brand of chocolate if you wanted something that still resembled Hershey.

I wonder if there’s enough demand that Cadbury UK could do something like Marmite have to do with their imports here - producing the “Our Mate” branded jars because Sanitarium NZ have the rights to the Marmite name here (with an objectively worse product).
