Bondi Rescue

Andrew O’Keefe made an appearance on the second episode tonight during the first 2 minutes of the episode.

Did they rescue him or let him drown? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Just watched this week’s show over dinner. It had a cold opening and closing. No theme song, no preview of the next episode, not even a short credits clip with the show’s website and logo of production company CJZ. Is it a bit odd?

The last segment of tonight’s season finale was the closure of Bondi Beach on March 21, after tens of thousands of people swamped the area the previous day in 36C heat despite the threat of coronavirus, creating headlines around the world.

(This clip was posted this morning)

Osher said at the end of the segment: “How long the world’s most famous beach will be closed? No one knows.”
Bondi Beach did reopen under restricted conditions in late April, but was closed again due to unexpected large crowd. In May the beach reopened with a cap of 500 people.

Tonight’s season opener spent three minutes on the March closure of Bondi Beach (due to COVID-19) and its reopening months later, and then it’s straight into action.

Looks like the show’s official YouTube channel is uploading past seasons, starting with the very first episode which was posted early this morning.

After going off air in April, season 16 resumes Monday, December 6 at 7.30pm with the remaining episodes.

Cold opening to tonight’s repeat episode. Not even the title screen was shown.

Are these news eps that are on now?

No, new eps will resume at some point next year with the shows renewal

Three of the lifeguards were interviewed on The Project tonight and they chatted about filming again after Covid and that the new seadon will start soon on Ten.
