Big Brother

Judging by the promos and the way it’s been formated , I doubt it will go way. I will watch the first episode.

Yep when I heard that Kyle and Jackio were hosting season 8 I stopped watching. Although I had already given up half way through Season 7 with the Andrew and Haley crap.

Actually I never saw the Nine version, so I guess to safe to say I don’t need too.

Haha yeah and they used Real Player for the first season and streaming was free, but then they began charging for premium access from Season 2!

I think we should have a MS wide ban on members born after 1999.

BB07 was the most memorable for me. watching the live evictions with the family during dinner, even the graphics back then were so nostalgic man

I would have said 1979 but maybe that’s just me

I remember. I’d got hooked on BB (and The Weakest Link) when visiting the UK in 2000 and couldn’t wait to see the show adapted here. I remember when the first BBAU housemate (Andy?) was evicted it got full page coverage in the papers.

I think I followed it up until the last Gretel season. I didn’t even bother with Kyle and Jackie O or Sonia Kruger hosting.

For me, Big Brother was/is the TV equivalent of contemporary hits radio - something that I probably should’ve but have never really been able to get into.

What I definitely do remember is a somewhat nerdy contestant during the 2012 version by the name of Brad and people on this forum joking that he may have been Media Spy’s very own Brad! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There was something about the 2001 series that captured the zeitgeist and feeling of the period.

It never quite matched that feeling for me in later years.

Bit more promotion for the program. They’ve teamed up with Nova Entertainment for a competition.

Sonya is on this week’s Stellar magazine, ahead of the show’s debut on Seven next month.

Another housemate revealed.

What sort of casting is this?! It seems everyone has some sort of claim to fame, even though I know none of them. How shit. Better to have absolute randoms on.

Yep. Gone are the days when genuine people would participate. Nowadays it’s just some wannabe instagram stars desperate for some attention.

If this is what Big Brother’s going to be in 2020 they might as well not revive it. Shows like mAFS and Love Island already covers these wannabes and their ambitions.

YouTube channels with 100,000 subscribers get a plaque and certificate from YouTube. That guy just needs to get another 80,000 subscribers.

I remember my parents bought me my own tv at 15 or 16, was a small square heavy CRT from Dick Smith’s.

Anyway remember sneaking into my tv room in the hallway not far from my parents room to watch BB Uncut when parents had gone to bed lol. I also remember something on the news with John Howard saying something was disgusting and the show should be removed and not long after BB Uncut was no longer on air .

Didn’t have internet until another year later (Dialup) and didn’t get broadband up until 2012 ! I remember finally getting fast internet (ADSL1 all available regional area in 2012) but the streaming of BB online was no longer going.

The John Howard comment was after the turkey slap happened. Ten even used that comment for their promos the following year.

I hate the font they are using for the housemates names. Amongst everything else.

Yeah, I’m not digging the look. It’s very dark and heavy and doesn’t suit the 7 brand. It could’ve looked very fresh and fun, for its new era.

The show premieres Sunday 7 June 2020.
