Both of them were joking. The actual housemates are just twiddling their thumbs as we speak.
In a recent interview with The U.S. Sun, the salesperson from Paducah, Kentucky, revealed some interesting details of the show’s behind-the-scenes process, including how contestants are sequestered in a hotel room for two weeks before filming begins.
“The one thing that surprised me was the sequester was different from what I expected. It’s long,” Frederich told the outlet. “It’s almost two weeks… And you don’t have any contact with anybody. You’re just sitting in a hotel room.”
That’s about the CBS version (which I don’t personally see as the same show). The TV Tonight thing the other day said they don’t get locked down untill about 5 days before they go in.
As I mentioned earlier it’s just a set in a shed. It’s not really a house like the initial versions. I guess the cost to build what we had in the first few seasons is way beyond any budget these days.
I think for any chance for this to rate it needs to go back to what we had at the start, a house, non fake contestants, and GK. You wouldn’t get a budget approved for that these days.
Interesting - while I don’t think this is the core group who will go in on night 1, based on the title they are probably wildcards to be voted on enter on the live special set for Monday.
The other way you could look at it is that this is the actual core group and the least-voted housemate(s) will be assigned an “Evil Eye” (higher eviction risk).
You know, like the UK version.
Also, how fun to have a live special with only AEDT states being able to actually influence the in-the-moment outcome when the rest have to watch on. /s
