Big Brother

I’d assume that the house would have a backup generator with SEQ getting smashed by storms.
I’d think 10 wouldn’t want it to lose power/lose the feed from the house at any point
Anyone know?

I don’t know about the current situation, but back in 2004, they had a blackout during one of the final evictions. The show remained on air with lights and most functions, and only lost some of the set backdrop screens at the side of the stage. Here’s the moment as captured on the recent livestreams: https://www.youtube.com/live/6rJQ6f44w3Q?si=LN5iLXeLyd0JDKGq&t=33900

I think there is a slight difference

The challenges on Ch7 BB were closer to Survivor challenges in that they were bigger feats of physicality (I think some were directly copied from Survivor), but the FNL games were mostly on the lighter side - they looked like games from It’s a Knockout or games you see at a fairground.

Endtag now has times on it.

10N+ kinda feels like an obstacle in this case. Without it, they could have gone live 7.00-8.00 nationally.

Perth?
7pm AEDT
4pm AWST

The news starts at 5pm, doesn’t it? (Yes, even in Perth.)

Yes but you don’t touch B&TB. We know what happens when you do
IIRC they messed with the news lead ins and it bombed

Oh well, there we go. Was gonna suggest some time after 9pm AEDT but probably a bit too late.

If it’s 7.30pm network, any viewer voting arrangement is going to be a bit messy.

Especially during live nights, which there will be.

How do they do the live shows in QLD, is it just broadcast with an hour delay there like almost everything else during daylight savings?

Yes lol

Schedule released today shows no specific themes on any day.

Guess we will have to tune in and find out.

No specific themes - meaning just normal daily shows Monday to Friday.

I thought that they were doing nominations on the Wednesday on the first week though? No change in the schedule for that.

And Monday night is meant to be a Live Special too as Dreamworld were posting tickets

Mel is on the cover of The Watchlist TV guide inside News Corp papers today.

Big Brother host spills on new season: ‘You don’t need any skills, other than being yourself’

As the host of an upcoming revamped version of Big Brother, Tracina is responsible for evicting TV housemates with a now-famous four-word refrain: “It’s time to go …” And she has been repeating it to herself in the mirror since learning she would take the reins of the groundbreaking reality TV series when it returns to its original home on 10 for the first time in 17 years.

“I’m so nervous,” she admits to The Watchlist.

“I’ve absolutely been practicing; I’ve said it too many times. My family are getting annoyed. I’m trying it with different inflections to see which one works best.”

“At the moment, the span of ages (of housemates) is across five decades,” Tracina teases, adding that the line-up is still subject to change.

“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan. We have blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. We have a diverse range.”

Tracina tells The Watchlist, there will be strict rules governing the behaviour in the house. “Anything where the housemates step out of line, there are protocols in place, because we need to keep all the housemates safe,” she says.

Come on, are we doing launch night eviction… like the UK?

Might as well just watch ITV version to see what they have been doing. (Last night there was a double eviction for the first time.)

Otherwise if you could evict yourself before getting in, you probably have no place to be there.

I assume that they are copying what the UK does and just blending the live special/nominations into the regular daily show.

Did you have a link to the ad on the right by any chance? Is the Bondi ad new? It is not listed on 10’s website (yet?).

Given the OG styled eye is still prevalent in some promotional materials paired with the newer blue and pink/purple colour palette and eye symbol for the brand, it could just be another variation. It’s plastered everywhere at Dreamworld which is nice.

Even if the branding has changed, at least we were given the privilege of the classic theming and eye in the lead up.

It isn’t all negative, the real eye is still visible within the pupil of the revised logo, and the blocky typeface remains! :eye:
