4 weeks seems way too short.
Thereās lots of controversy already in the BB UK house. one person has been booted and another warned on their behaviour. But isn;t what this show is all about? Itās a social experiment of people from different walks of life and opinions living together with no interference from the outside world. If we boot people or get offended on behalf of people then the audience will vote accordingly.
The person that was booted made comments that were so bad they breached broadcasting standards and couldnāt even be aired on TV. And the person that got warned made transphobic comments that were upsetting to many of the housemates. There is always a limit to what you can say/do and get away with.
It definitely is way too short and the wrong time of the year to be launching. I think it could completely damage itās reboot potential.
Iām starting to wonder what the format will be like. The promos are pushing live evictions and nominations but surely that canāt just mean 4 of each? Given the time of year and the gaps already showing in Tenās schedule, I reckon theyāll go all in on Big Brother from 7-9pm most nights. With a daily show + live elements some nights and extended daily shows some days.
Then Iām guessing it will adopt the UK Celeb Big Brother format that usually goes for about 4 weeks. Iād guess around 14ish housemates, with one leaving after the end of the first week, then double evictions or additional mid-week evictions. Live nominations might only happen once a week and then if there is a mid-week eviction, then housemates are nominated other ways (or just done on a daily show). Iād also expect the finale to feature around 6 housemates.
For a celebrity version, for a month-long run is a good timeframe only after the main series has had a couple of successful runs of the main series.
If it were to run over the 13 or odd weeks over the summer break I think 10 have got a winner, compared to the offerings of what is provided over the last few years of reruns and one-off specials.
and they all know theyāre on TV and will amplify their personalities or reactions more than a normal situation.
I mean Ben and Tim won BBAU seasons and they were horrible people
I donāt know if a summer run can work in Australia
There are too many holidays (Christmas, New Yearās, Aus Day) and summer sports (Aus Open, Cricket) and we Australians are more outdoorsy and more likely to go on holidays compared to say the Americans or the Brits - who are both more likely to watch and invest in watching a summer run of a multi-night reality show - like BB or Love Island, which both have (or for BBUK previously had) sucessful summer runs in both countries.
Photos of interior construction were posted to BBās Instagram account yesterday.

Looks more like a set in a shed. I know many productions run sets without a roof, wonder if they are doing the same.
And yes, this should have been done for Winter especially if they want solid audience in Vic/NSW.
Not sure, maybe the roof isnāt installed yet?
Every reality program has its own code of conduct for the contestants, and if they break it they risk consequences or even expulsion. (well, every show except MAFS AU it seemsā¦) Itās not strange at all.
Two contestants were expelled from Amazing Race over homophobic comments made regarding other contestants. It can happen
Two contestants were evicted from Love Island this year in the US for past social media comments.
I just saw footage of them telling the HM that guy was kicked out and they were actually shocked and sad saying he genuinely was a good person. So it shows these people are all adults who see all sides of someone and when the public or other contestants amplify their outrage this will happen. We never used to have so many opinions online like we do now and prob why the Ten reboot wonāt work.
You can be a good person in some ways but still hold very harmful opinions. It has now come out that he was kicked out because he made several unbroadcastable comments in a conversation about conspiracy theories. And given the Sun is reporting it had to do with anti-semetic language, it very likely had to do with the holocaust.
He had received several warnings already about saying stuff that couldnāt be broadcast on TV, he was literally putting the show in danger so I understand the producers removing him.
His removal had nothing to do with viewers opinions or what was shown in the episodes.
Friday Night Games could be Saturday Night Games at 8pm under this reboot, especially if they run it for 1 hour regular show Monday to Friday, 90 minutes Sunday and a 1 hour regular show on Saturday from 7pm
Saturday is a wasteland that wonāt happen
Curious to see how Big Brother will handle daylight saving time. With live evictions and nominations returning, and QLD not having daylight savings, does that mean the start time will be an hour earlier in QLD? Or is the show not actually live in QLD - which would be odd, considering itās filmed there.
It wonāt be live in QLD.
Iām sure itās been mentioned before, but itās been a whileā¦ā¦
In the original on 10, we had Nomination Nights on Mondays, with Eviction Nights on Sundays. With this being a short 4-5 week run, will this still be the case? Surely it canāt be a 12 housemate + the 2 intruder season? Otherwise weād be getting triple evictions each time, which isnāt great.
Am assuming it will be 8-10 housemates? I can see at least one āsurpriseā mid week eviction perhaps on top of the Sunday night one to hurry up the process?
How are they going to work that when they have a live stream this year?
