I really want this to work for Dreamworld and 10.
(I’m a sucker for nostalgia)
Agree. I hope it works.
They have a chance especially with social media if used correctly and the always on aspect…

Big Brother is officially returning to its spiritual home, with a brand-new house set to rise from the ashes at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
In an exclusive reveal producers confirmed the 2025 reboot of the iconic reality juggernaut will be filmed at the very site that made the franchise a cultural phenomenon more than two decades ago.
After months of speculation and calls from diehard fans for a nostalgic full-circle moment, production company Endemol Shine has locked in Dreamworld as the official location for the show’s revival — complete with a purpose-built house.
Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong said: “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Big Brother back home to Dreamworld. This iconic show holds a special place in our story and in the hearts of millions of Australians.”
Supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, the production will employ 95 local crew members and offer four paid attachment positions. Casting is now open at bigbrothercasting.com.au. The new season will air later this year on 10.
The fact Dreamworld are relaunching The Claw (as King Claw) at the same time, feels like perfect timing. I can already see the opening credits.
the cube opening sequence in 05-07 was the best they did, hoping they bring elements of that back too!
Big Brother Returns Home To Dreamworld.
A Brand-New House, Back Where It All Began.
Direct from the diary room, it’s official: Australia’s original reality TV sensation, Big Brother, is back home on 10 and returning to its legendary Dreamworld setting on the Gold Coast.
The iconic social experiment that launched countless conversations, rivalries, friendships and of course, the bum dance, returns refreshed and ready to capture a whole new generation of fans while rekindling nostalgia for longtime viewers.
Expect high stakes, unexpected alliances, and classic and heartwarming moments as Big Brother once again opens the doors to the Dreamworld house, setting the stage for another unforgettable season in Australian television history.
Daniel Monaghan, SVP Content and Programming, Paramount Australia, said: “The demand for a reboot of the original format has been deafening, and we have listened. With a brand-new house built on familiar ground, this season will be centred on real people with real stories, talking in real time.”
Hosted by Mel Tracina – Cultural Correspondent for The Cheap Seats and National Radio Host on Nova – the long-awaited revival will be straight out of the noughties playbook, featuring live nominations, live evictions and live streaming.
Mel Tracina said: “The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right. We’re excited to be home (and in a new house that hopefully comes with an air fryer).”
Big Brother is always watching, and this year audiences can too – across all screens and platforms – with episodes airing six nights a week and live streaming.
Amelia Fisk, Director of Content, Endemol Shine Australia said: “Big Brother revolutionised a reality TV movement over 24 years ago, creating some of the most memorable moments that have had a huge impact on the Australian public. We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the OG Big Brother back to 10 and to its home at Dreamworld in Queensland. The return of Big Brother is a testament to the power of this iconic super brand. Get ready for a summer of incredible human drama and unforgettable moments.”
Greg Yong, Dreamworld CEO, said: “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Big Brother back home to Dreamworld. This iconic show holds a special place in our story and in the hearts of millions of Australians.
“When we heard Big Brother was returning to Network 10, there was only one place it could truly come home to: Dreamworld. This full-circle moment celebrates the legacy, nostalgia, and larger-than-life entertainment that have helped shape us into Australia’s most beloved theme park.
“We’re proud to be part of this exciting new chapter and look forward to sharing the magic of Big Brother’s return with fans across the country. Welcome home, Big Brother.”
Big Brother is supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
Jacqui Feeney, Screen Queensland CEO, said: “Endemol Shine Australia’s Big Brother has been an important training ground for many local screen practitioners and this new iteration will employ 95 crew as well as supporting four paid attachment positions.
“They will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts in critical areas such as outside broadcasting, a skillset that will be in high demand as we head towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

How long does it take to construct and fit out the new BB house? A development application would have been lodged with Gold Coast City Council months ago for the building.
the original house took 7 weeks to complete, and you would hope the relevant permits would already be approved if you’re announcing a location.
What are these 2 huge sheds at the back of Dreamworld? They could be converted into a house/studios?
The two buildings are very close to the road so security could be a concern.
It feels like they have a lot to do in 3 months. Casting has only just opened and it doesn’t appear any house construction has commenced. A bit of a rush to air a short season this year.
How can the house be constructed and fit out with all the cameras etc, casting completed etc and all to air before the end of the year? Seems very rushed.
They also need to rebuild the arena for live shows.
Unless they’re doing the live elimination shows on a budget and with reduced crowds?
Although we have known the show was coming along for some time, but this does seem too rushed. Casting just coming up and the house just being built now? For something that will air in Q4.
It’s early November so could be a 4-5 week season to see how the show is received. And then if it does well it could air around August in 2026 for a longer run maybe 8-10 weeks
Wasn’t there a rights issue between 10 and 7 - 7 gave them a Cease & Desist from advertising the show (that probably includes things like casting).
But I’d imagine that there will be a quick ramp up over the next few months.
