But there was something extra special about the BB Uncut shows. Probably because I was a horny teenager at the time, but still.
I think youâll find most are in their 30s lol
It was the early 2000s equivalent of teenagers staying up late to catch late night SBS movies.
For some of us, we didnât have SBS, so this had to do. Although, SBS might have come to our neck of the woods by then. I thinkâŚ
I also remember there was a Big Brother magazine for the second series, with a sealed section. You can tell I brought that magazine specifically for that sealed section.
I was a huge fan of when BB started on 10 for most of its run. As much as I would love to see a 12 week format again like the hey day, I canât see it happening in todayâs market. It will probably be around a 8 week run, i would say. With a double elimination here and there, with a few more contestants in the house in the final week, rather than just 3.
I just want Big Brother Up Late to return, so I can watch the quiz portion of the show
Alright mate.
yeah this really wasnât common. I was a superfan of BB. me and my now wife were dating when season one was on and we ended up buying annual passes to dreamworld and going to pretty much all the live evictions for about 3 years.
we would have the streams - hell we signed up to 3 to get them on our phones but the daily show was a must watch. it was a nice neat recap of the day
Well thatâs my memories of Big Brother. Come at me brah.
Most of my friends were the same. Got a 3 mobile plan because of BB, signed up to VIp streaming etc.
Where did I say most fans where doing that? Please stop putting words in my mouth and actually read what was written.
I just responded to the post that said watching the daily show was obligatory viewing when it wasnât. The official site used to post written updates and articles as well as other sites covering topics to the other things that I mentioned. You didnât need to watch the daily show and feel like like you missed something important when you could catch up on events elsewhere.
The live feed isnât about people watching 24/7 - itâs about fans being able to watch 24/7 and creating 24/7 content for the show, which can come from the fans rather than the producers.
With more targetted ad strategies now available via streaming it wonât need as big as numbers as previously to pay for itself. I think the long term future of Ten under Paramount remains to be seen but will be interesting if they make them available free or whether they go behind a paywall, which probably helps in terms of limiting any potential controversy.
Also thereâs Tik Tok now. So much content can be shared on what is seen on the LIVE cams and change the whole trajectory of the edited show on TV.
this is what i would do with streaming:
have a free, add supported stream. this would be a generic stream and would be quite censored and therefore delayed. this is the family friendlier stream (wonât be 100% family friendly due to the nature of the show, but perhaps MA).
iâd put a number of uncensored streams (including the diary room) behind a paywall. say $20 for the season and these would be on the 10play app (this ensures maximum avalablity rather than another app download that wonât be everywhere)
Surely the streams could go on Paramount+ too?
I think the model will be similar to CBSâs broadcast of the US version
Daily Shows on 10 in Primetime
A free limited time stream on a secondary channel (10Peach?) or on 10Playâs Pluto Streaming from around 9:00 or 10:00pm to midnight
24/7 paid feed on Paramount+ - with multiple feeds as well as controls to rewind to any moment of the season.
When has 10 ever cared about 10Peach. Itâs still SD AFAIK.
Itâll be 10, 10Bold/10Play & P+
