They follow the US format but improve on it. The North American format inspired the Aussie format, but it isn’t the format they took.
Crucially they retain the element of broadcasting the show live with 24/7 live feeds. The competitions are far more varied and you have the additional Veto comps, where a nominee can be saved. Been a few twists over the years too, often influenced by Canadas vote - and quite a few noteable moments. I’d highly recommend it - it’s been the best English language version most years it’s aired. They’re heading into their 10th season next year, and for me BBCAN3 is probably the best where they have a real confidence in what they’re doing and push it that bit further, but I’d highly recommend starting from the beginning (assuming 7+ put all seasons up, not just the new one) and working from there.
That is interesting to see BBCAN finally picked up in Australia. How soon after the 3 weekly eps air will they be available on 7plus? Any chance of live feeds?
I would like to see veto comps, and a jury vote for the winner of BBAU in future seasons, using the full North American format.
Any chance BBUS gets picked up here, and live feeds?
It’s going to be interesting how they react to the new way the game is played. Can’t believe Tim is back and with Reggie being half blind she might not be good in the challenges.
The new season started filming on October 12 and will run for 12 weeks. That means the last remaining housemates will leave the house just in time for Christmas.
Apparently the BB house for the new season will also be at Sydney Olympic Park, sharing the same location (White Pavilion) as Big Brother VIP.
Based on the photos from the article and the map of this year’s Royal Easter Show, the outdoor arena will be located at Schmidt Arena which is sandwiched between Clarence Avenue and New England Avenue, north of Giants Stadium.
Yes, they normally say a three month window but that includes any isolation beforehand (so 2 weeks), pre-production requirements and post-production requirements. I doubt they’ll film much longer than 60 days - that’s half the point of pre-recording it.
I can never understand comments like this, do we all expect that they’ll personally cast everyone that you’ll happen to know? They cherry picked 3 people from the cast for a graphic, one out of 3 ain’t bad.
In any case, I don’t watch that much TV but from these forums I know that’s Luke Toki from Survivor on the left, Danny the dickhead real estate agent who everyone hated from Big Brother on the right and Caitlyn Jenner.
What’s to understand? Surely the promo pic should make the viewers want to watch? I just made reference that I don’t know 2 of the 3 they chose to highlight in that particular post.
It’s a common rhetoric on this site any time somebody doesn’t happen to recognize or know someone. I’m not having a go at you personally, which is why I said “I don’t understand comments like this”.
Just find it hard to believe people have an expectation nowadays that they should instantly know who someone is for them to be deemed as a celebrity (within reason) or worthy to be on a show like this.
We obviously know they cast wide to try to cover bases to appeal to various audiences, and i’d say the kind of person who would usually watch a show like this would know who Luke & Danny are - hence being cast.
I knew all 3. Caitlyn Jenner is well known to many people in general, Daniel is a Big Brother housemate so as a Big Brother fan you should know who he is, and Luke is a Survivor Player, a very popular one at that. BB’s target demographic is younger viewers, and I would also guess most people who watch Survivor are also watching Big Brother. So really if you’re like me is part of the key demo and ticks all of these boxes, you should know these 3 quite easily.
As a much older viewer I know all 3! I don’t understand anyone who says they don’t know any of the so called celebrities on any reality show. Just Google them! Besides IMO, some I don’t know turn out to be the one’s who provide the most entertainment.
After months of preparation, Big Brother will swing open the doors to his VIP hotel at 7.30pm, Monday 1 November, with the star-studded premiere of Big Brother VIP on Channel 7 and 7plus
Big Brother’s game just got bigger with his invitation to 12 VIPs to take a vacation from their celebrity lives and check into an experience like no other. Never one to do things modestly, Big Brother has invited the VIPs to his first-ever luxury hotel, where they will receive rock star treatment with a Big Brother twist.
Big Brother VIP host Sonia Kruger says Big Brother is undeterred by the celebrity status of his guests. “Big Brother is always in control and ready to push the VIPs to their limits. They’re more afraid of him than cancel culture. They’re going to wish they’d signed on for SAS Australia instead!”
Removed from the world they know, this elite group will be at the mercy of Big Brother’s wicked game for 22 days. Their every move will be captured as they face hilarious house tasks, epic nomination challenges and edge-of-your-seat eviction ceremonies – all while they eat, sleep and share a bathroom together.
Shock confessions and intimate conversations are on the menu as the VIPs vie to win $100,000 for their nominated charity. Who takes it home? Australia decides.
Produced by Endemol Shine Australia for the Seven Network, Big Brother VIP is guaranteed to dominate the conversation of a nation.
I’m annoyed Tim Dormer will be back for All Stars but now another name being put out there is Trevor. Trevor? He did nothing! He was also the first HM to win $1 mil for just standing behind doors and scaring people. Can they make him actually do something this time or will he have some new strategy to win like a proposal at the end of the series.
Big Brother VIP premieres in New Zealand on TVNZ2 on Tuesday, November 2 at 9.30pm, and continue on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30pm, according to Screenscribe.net. Each episode will be shown the night after the Australian broadcast.
