JOHANNA – THE EVOLUTION OF OUR DRINKING WATER

If you drank a glass of sea water, you’d get really sick, right? Actually, the water you’re drinking right now might’ve come from the sea – it’s just been desalinated first. It’s an amazing process and Johanna’s checking out one of Australia’s five desalination plants to find out how it’s done.

Well, there’s a new apartment block that connects residents with nature through garden spaces that incorporate lagoons, plants and a multi-layered rainforest, but it’s the seven-storey waterfall and huge vertical garden that is most impressive to Graham. This residential project highlights the importance of green spaces for our mental and emotional wellbeing and points to an exciting future for apartment living.

Near the end of tonight’s season finale, Johanna mentioned two stories that were shot earlier this year that would feature in 2026:

  • Dr Harry’s visit to King of the Ranges stockman’s challenge in Murrurundi in NSW’s Upper Hunter Valley (this year’s event took place on September 26-28)
  • Colin’s return to Ireland which also included a visit to his mother’s home

Johanna also teased there would be more BH&G on TV than ever before. I wonder what she meant.

They used to air BH&G specials outside of the regular Friday eps, last done during COVID IIRC, there were ones on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Sometimes during weeks where there were other filler programs or split schedules due to special AFL games.

But in reality, it would probably just be extra specials shown throughout the year.
